Isn't so great
A lot of negative reviews. No more free or trial versions. Plus on their website, astronomy.starrynight.com, under the "Enthusiast" option, they have as one of the Key Features, "Binoluar & Deep Space database." What is a "binoluar"? If they make this typo, how many errors can we expect in their program code?
NO TRIAL HERE
NO TRIAL HERE
After getting through hassel of download and its associated unwanted bars and softwares, you will figure out that once upon a time, long long back this was offered as trial but NO MORE NOW.
The code link takes you to site to buy the software.
If you are patient enough to go further in QAs you get this message:
Q: I downloaded a free trial version of Starry Night Backyard and I need a registration number. A: We are sorry, but the product you downloaded is so old, it is no longer supported. There are sites out there that..."
Would be nice if Cnet cares to let people know about changes here not to waste time if Free Trial is the intension before buying.
No need to try
No need to try it
I'd would recommend Stellarium. Its both free and outstanding!
You get all excited to learn about the constellations in the sky above you for a full 15 days.
All your hopes and dreams of knowing a bit more about the heavens. Goodness, I'm quite unhappy!
When you click the link that (supposedly) takes you to a website that gives you the free trial registration code, it takes you to the Starry Night homepage without any mention of where in the website you can find the code, or even have it emailed to you as it says it will be.
It will not work without a registration code, and you are not given a code with the trial version. C-Net should take this one off of free trials.
C-Net needs to check out free downloads.
not very good

I have used this program a long time ago and it is great.
The problem is it won't give you the F*&^%$# activation code so you can't use it.
Don't waste 10 minutes of your life. Try another website!

didn't even use it. No matter how many times I E-mailed these people, I never recieved my regestration code to activate the program. So, I say it's a piece of junk. Their "help" was NO HELP whatsoever.
I NEVER got to try it. Apparently, you have to enter a name ('trial") and a regestration code. I was directed to the page where the so-called 'regestration code" was, but it was a blank page. I e-mailed support and have been waiting three whole days for my "claim ticket" to be read. If I were you, I'd listen to me, and read "R"'s reveiw also.
