"One of the best games i have ever played on PC ever!!!"

    November 18, 2008   |   By gunner2476

    Version: Star Sonata 1.0.25

    Pros

there is always a chalange just around the next corner...
Everything from the the next mission in the chain to an unexpected war being declaired. They offer UNLIMITED free play up to level 20 which is good - but it REALLY opens up after level 20!!!

    Cons

been playing this game for over a year now and have not really found anything i can trully call a con for this game...

    Summary

on a footnote there are not that many games that i am able to play due to seizure disorder i happen to suffer from and yet this game has not caused me ANY problems of any kind in that regard. so imo this is probibley the most friendly game in that regard that i have ever encountered...

    "Primitive & Boring"

    May 25, 2008   |   By bdbranch

    Version: Star Sonata 1.0.25

    Pros

It functions (at least for me) & you play on net. That's it. Not much is it.

    Cons

This is clearly a rehatched old freeware program of poor quality. It's a cheap and cheesy 2d space shootup and boring trading game. The primitive trading system appears to be only there to hide the fact that this is a really low quality freeware game from yesteryear.

Now as far as addictive value, I can't see that either. Honestly, it's just boring. Now I've had nice little games who's addictive value has been so massive I've had to delete them because they were interferring with what I should have been doing. That was not a problem in this case.

Would have given no stars if possible.

"Opening gameplay verdict: nice, play at your own pace."

    October 12, 2006   |   By comp-sci

    Version: Star Sonata 1.0.25

    Pros

A great effort; territories seem to be graded at first, to allow the player to progress when comfortable. Nice interface, and gameplay elements that do not inhibit play. Not a combat/flight simulation; more action RPG, giving a nice balance.

I've not yet met any unsympathetic players.

    Cons

Large-scale navigation needed a manual map, as the left-side map seemed not to be working.

Some server lag, but not unplayable.

Some features require commitment (spending thousands of credits) to discover how they work - though revealing everything would spoil it.

    "The number one space MMORPG"

    July 11, 2006   |   By Retyu

    Version: Star Sonata 1.0.25

    Pros

I have been a player of Star Sonata for over two years on numerous accounts. The game has always held a firm challenge for me, it is content rich and has a good playerbase. Star Sonata is the combination of complicated and hard working minds, and with a mass of missions and secret ships, ancient races long dead, and the sinister Ur Iq Bana aliens, glowing sinister blue on the horizon of the fringes of mankind. I would say that this is the best online game I have ever played. I have been a party of a lot of online computer games, and rate this higer than any other.

    Cons

Player Vs Player Combat is Restricted to only fighting people within a large level range of yourself. Meaning that a lot of new players are safe for a long time.

Some players kill off people early in the game when they reach around level 20, and a few players leave because of this.

    April 15, 2006   |   By Kilroth

    Version: Star Sonata 1.0.25

    Pros

Starting from the Beta version of this game and watching it span almost three years now I have seen some major improvements. Game play went from the best trained fingers to the best trained mind. New graphics, new staff, new server and new universes. Awesome game.

    Cons

    ~Negative~

    "Awesome game!"

    April 07, 2006   |   By Lord Voom

    Version: Star Sonata 1.0.25

    Pros

I have been playing this game for more then a year now and it's still awesome. There's always something to do, build bases, build colonies on planets, build items on your bases, own galaxies, fight tons of spaceships, go hunting with friends to find rare items. Best online game out there imo.

    Cons

Cant think of anything I dont like about it.

    "Great Game"

    April 07, 2006   |   By Bedevere13

    Version: Star Sonata 1.0.25

    Pros

I have been playing Star Sonata for a long time now. It plays like Star Control and has fun and clean combat, but what I really like is building bases, founding colonies, and setting up remote control slave ships to ship stuff around while I'm offline. The whole economy aspect of it can be a little bit like Sim City and is fun. Or if you'd rather just fight, go and kill stuff and scoop up the loot and sell it to the saps who spend all their time building. =)
