Publisher's description of SphereJongg
From Software Diversions:Moraff SphereJongg is yet another fantastic mah-jongg game and a favorite among Moraff fans since 1995. This unique board layout has tiles shaped more like spheres, or, as some would say, marbles, placed on a photographic-quality background. Included with this newest game is a layout editor, so now you can create your own layouts. The new version also includes a completely redesigned tile-maker program, an image browser, a background browser, and a layout selector. The spheres have 3D shading, letting you spot at a glance which are available for play. The objective is to eliminate all the spheres by selecting exact matches. Options let you select different layouts, backgrounds, tile sets, and cursors, get hints, undo wrong moves, play timed games, and track statistics. Digital sound effects and soothing background music add to the fun. The game spheres can be stacked in three or four rows, with large or small spheres in different colors and textures.

- Version reviewed: SphereJongg 10.1
The idea of Moraff SphereJongg remains finding and removing pairs of matching pieces to clear the board. The balls look like the multicolored spheres so popular in early-1990s computer graphics--shiny, textured, and floating in space. You get your choice of three layouts: lines of spheres, the traditional mah-jongg solitaire layout done with spheres, or a combination of spheres and symbolic tiles. The game runs smoothly in windowed or the default full-screen mode, and it offers all kinds of options. Though you can only do a couple of shuffles, the combination of undo and hints makes your odds of winning good. You get to select your victory prizes, most of which are cute text descriptions.
Many of the spheres show artifacts, and despite the 3D effect it's often hard to tell when a ball is playable. When we opened the game, the music didn't play; we had to open the music editor and select MIDI files from the game folder. Some of the music is piercing, though you can skip to the next piece through the Music menu. When you quit, you get an audio promo screen. Still, fans of Moraff games and of mah-jongg should enjoy Moraff SphereJongg.
