Spartan Lite Multi Clipboard is an enhanced clipboard for Windows. It saves the 25 most recently copied clips in a simple, spreadsheet-style grid and also stores many permanent clips, including text, images, Web and e-mail addresses, and anything else you can copy and paste from the clipboard.
It does more than just paste stuff, though. You can configure it to perform a wide range of functions such as sending e-mail, running programs, filling forms, bookmarking Web sites, and dialing telephone numbers. Spartan Lite is a fully functional freeware version of Spartan, with no adware or nag screens. The freeware only stores 500 permanent clips, while the paid version stores 10,000 clips.
We recommend starting with Spartan Lite's Quick Start Guide, though the program also offers a full Help file for greater detail. Spartan and Spartan Lite share an interface, a series of gridded rows and color-coded cells. The first 25 cells are yellow for temporary clips, while the remainder are either white, for permanent clips, or grayed out and labeled "Full version only." The white areas can be configured in multiple Sheets (the full version has many more than the Lite version) that can be arranged in various ways.
The interface itself can be quickly reconfigured into different Views, including those that display Hotkeys and Macro Clips. Clips can be dragged and dropped into cells or pasted directly. You can drag clips to arrange them, too. Hovering the cursor over a cell displays its contents in a preview, including images.
One nice feature of Spartan Lite is its frequent explanations. Hovering the cursor over many of the program's elements and options produced frequent, detailed explanations, especially on the General and View 1 (main view) Options sheets on the Tools menu. The program even includes a Year Planner and other extras.
Most of the time, Spartan Lite sits in the system tray; clicking the program's icon gives quick access to all of its views. Temporary clips appeared automatically in View 1; we merely had to right-click any clip to paste, delete, rename, copy, or edit it. The Clip editing tool is a mini graphics app and text editor. In short, Spartan Lite is a worthwhile clipboard enhancement.

Minimal keystrokes/mouse clicks are needed to do things. Hover-view: Hover over the name of a clip and a large thumbnail with the image is shown. Hover-help: Hover over a term in one of the options panes and you get an instant explanation of that term. Batch paste: Paste multiple clips to an open document (great when writing an installation document holding many screen shots). Many other options I have not yet investigated.

Excellent multi-clipboard, store any data type, then use your saved clips as you wish; saved a web address? click on the text to paste the url(address) as text or hover your mouse over the text and a Grey button will appear to the right, click on it and the webpage opens in your browser.
Do the same with, e-mail, folders and pictures, if you have a fax modem installed it will even dial numbers for you, all you've got to do is copy, you can even retrieve clips you have deleted, if you want....Cons
None, couldn't fault this ingenious little app. I was so impressed I bought the full version

"Takes a little getting used to but worth the effort."

Pros
(Windows 7 64 bit) I've been using it for about a month (had it's predecessor M8) - fantastic product especially for storing/copying text where as with M8 I haven't experienced any problems. The concept is very straight forward and easy to learn/use.
Cons
I sometimes struggle with copying graphic content from web pages but have no problems with my own j-pegs.
Summary
Sept 2011 - The 'lite' version is free and stores up to 250 'clips' which has proven to be enough for my uses. You can pay and upgrade for more clips or get a portable versions or a U3 drive version. My biggest nag is with M8 software's website which isn't very user friendly in terms of comparing versions and pricing them. You have to do quite a bit of digging through different links to find this information. Another plus is that there are quite e few youtube videos showing with how to use the programme should you need. Once again - really good.

This is a superb and extremely useful piece of software. After only a couple of days use, I'm not sure how I managed without it! A simple idea, put to use remarkably effectively . . . there are so many uses for this, it's just incredible.
Cons
The only bad thing about this is that I'm now tempted to fork out for the "Heavy" version.
Summary
1st, I really like Spartan. It actually works. All other competitive products I have tried (about 4 or 5) at some point fail to recognize ctl-c for some reason. I have also found uses for it that I had not anticipated. Features like seeing the entire clipboard, being able to edit - really nice. And I can arrange displays in ways that work for me. I tried a bunch - Spartan is by far the best with no closed second.
