This ultrasimple application automatically opens and closes your CD-ROM drive with the click of your mouse, but there aren't any other features. SoftEject doesn't have a dedicated interface, nor does it need one. Instead, you double-click a convenient desktop icon to instantly open your CD-ROM drive. Closing the drive is done just as easily by pressing any key on the keyboard, or you can simply wait and the drive will automatically close in a few seconds. SoftEject keeps its promises, but if you look hard enough, you'll find a lot of free programs that perform the same job.Publisher's description
From MiniIE :Protect your CD-ROM eject key by using an icon to open and close the drive instead. SoftEject is a hip and convenient software that helps you to open and close CD-ROM tray without using Eject Key on your CD-ROM, so it can protect your CD-ROM Eject Key. After installing this program, click SoftEject icon - CD-ROM tray is opened; then click any key - CD-ROM tray is closed. and SoftEject is quitted from memory. It's not a memory-resident program.

Version: SoftEject 2
Pros: A innovation software, which is so simple and convenient. And it is not a memory-resident software.
Cons: Should have an option to select CDROM if you have more than one.
