Sendspace lets users send large files too big for e-mail to friends, family, and businesses, anywhere in the world. It allows files up to 1.5GB, that can be stored and downloaded as needed. You can also create Shared Folders and send file-links to family, friends, and colleagues. Sendspace allows you to link directly to files, no download page is needed.

"question about sendspace.com"
I'm encouraged by the positive reviews I've seen but have a question ~ see "cons".
A friend sent a slide show via sendspace.com but Norton cautioned me not to open it until they learn more about the website. Norton claimed I'm one of the first to use a download from sendspace.com. Is it safe or is something weird going on with Norton?
"sendspace is the BEST file transfer platform. PERIOD."
- It's free
- They've got unlimited downloads per file
- Generous max file size per transfer
- Ample storage limits (If you need more space, you need you can always buy extra space for cheap)
- You can connect multiple devices to their servers
- You can store files on their servers
- They have huge storage capacity
- They offer hot linking to files (with and without password protection)
- They've got a desktop app that rocks
- They've got a killer mobile app
- A bunch else...
It would be cool if they gave unlimited everything for free!
If I had to choose just one file sharing service from the universe of available platforms, sendspace.com would definitely beit. First of all, these guys were one of the first out there in large file sharing (if not THE very first)! For a long time, they have been the best platform out there - going back to at least 2005 (or maybe before). I'm pretty loyal to them because in my work I have to transfer a lot of huge working video and audio files and they have never let me down in the 7+ years I've relied on their service. I can't say the same for some of the other imitation sites I've occasionally experimented with. Sendspace has a killer UI loaded with practical features that just make sense. The service is very usable and works prefectly! Sendspace pioneered large file sharing and so they know better then anyone how to do it right. I just got an Android phone and I was really happy about how tight the integration is between the sendspace's website, the desktop client and their mobile app. Sendspace also offers huge file sharing limits for free! For just a few bucks, they can get you into a truly massive file transferring situation. There is no doubt about it, Sendspace.com is by the far the best large file transfer service that you can get - and its free!
"on the other hand...."
Note: Review below refers to registered, but FREE upload hosting services! All host's mentioned also supply unregistered free & paid-for services.
Kudos to Sendspace for the file size limit, which at 1.5gb is three times the limit for Megaupload & many times bigger than the Rapidshare limit (100mb or 300mb, depending on which Google hit you read). The interface is simple & easy to use & the uploads proceed without a hitch. Once uploaded the file details & links are shown on a separate page & there is also the option of receiving an e-mail containing the link . but.......
......on the other hand.......
the time limit for retaining files hosted by Sendspace is a paltry 7 days. In common with Rapidshare & Megaupload, this only applies if the link is 'inactive' (i.e. has not had any downloads), but the limit for both the other hosts is 90 days.
Megaupload also sends me an e-mail if a file is due for deletion, Sendspace does not. I've no idea if Rapidshare does as I've only used them as a downloader.
So my recommendation for any free users - use Megaupload, unless your file is too big, in which case Sendspace is the better deal. Rapidshare is probably fine to upload too, but I know from bitter experience that it is a begger to dowload from, so your chums & colleagues may not be pleased when attempting to do so!
"very good service"
Download speed is good.
50 seconds waiting can be relaxed based on availability
