Publisher's description of Safe Eyes
From InternetSafety:Fast, effective, and reliable, the Safe EyesTM Parental Control Software is the ideal online protection for your entire family! Safe EyesTM makes it easy to block objectionable material, limit time spent online, and control internet-based programs such as instant messengers, media players, and peer-to-peer file sharing applications. Its filtering servers are refreshed daily so your Parental Controls are always up-to-date. All account settings are stored on the Safe EyesTM secure servers which allows your children to be covered regardless of which computer they use in your home. Whether you are using Windows or Mac OSX, Safe EyesTM is the name you can trust to provide all of the benefits of the Internet with none of the worry.
Version 5.3 added capability to filter YouTube videos for inappropriate content. Visit your Web Blocking settings in the Filter Administrator to configure the YouTube feature.

- "Smart blocking behind the Eyes"
- Version reviewed: Safe Eyes 5.3
This program provides parents with a reliable tool for shielding their children from objectionable material. We should note that to try the program, you must surrender your personal information at the developer's Web site--a requirement we found a bit objectionable.
Nevertheless, this program's features and performance impressed us. In our tests, the application proved intelligent enough to block almost all pornographic sites, yet to allow, for instance, scientific articles on nudity. We were impressed with the wide variety of filters--ranging from adult-only topics, such as sex and weapons--to potentially malicious e-mail clients and search engines. Also, you can control when a user is allowed to surf the Web. Not insignificantly, it blocks the use of popular instant-messaging applications and even multimedia players, too, though in our tests the pop-up blocker didn't work very well.
Safe Eyes is well-protected against deactivation and uninstallation, and its settings can't be changed without a password. Although many full-fledged PC-monitoring suites offer much of the same functionality, Safe Eyes 2006 still will help parents sleep easier at night.

Version: Safe Eyes 5.3
Pros: There is nothing good about it. It is a scam and the reviews must all be fake.
Cons: This program takes over your machine and controls it. It is worse than any spyware.
Summary: It blocks many urls and does not change its functions even after you change the settings. I put it on three computers. Even with minimal controls, they all moved at a snail's pace. That is, except my Dell desktop, it has not beenable to connect to t... read more >>
