Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is a standalone multiplayer game in which players wage war as Axis or Allies in team-based combat. In Enemy Territory Axis and Allied teams do battle in traditional single scenarios, or wage war through a series of linked scenarios in a totally new campaign mode. During combat players gain experience and skill, and through battlefield promotions are awarded additional abilities that remain persistent across an entire campaign.
Additionally, new character classes like the Covert OpS as well as an enhanced Engineer allow teams to perform reconnaissance, steal enemy uniforms, and construct battlefield structures and military installations in the midst of combat to gain tactical advantages for their team. All new game modes, maps and communication abilities require players and teams to develop advanced strategies and tactics in the struggle for front line domination.

Pros
Good enough graphics, runs smoothly on my low-end laptop, looks a little like a mix between Halo and Team Fortress 2.
Cons
Never really that many people online, which is quite disappointing. It may be that there just aren't very many people who own this game on the West side of the US. I'm in Washington.
Summary
I would like it very much, possibly more than Halo Combat Evolved, if it weren't for the lack of players.

Objectives are great, not just shot and kill. Can be a medic, field op, soldier, engineer, covert op.
Cons

Never could get passed the error message so never got to play. Uninstalled after trying various methods to get past the error message.

I played W:ET for many years, it was and still is the best FPS I have ever played online. But unfortunately its time, as with all great games, has come. It once was hard to find a non-full server to play on; now most servers (of the few that still exist) are filled with Bots to play against that are just dumb and only shoot back if you stand directly in front of them or shoot them first. I would love to play this game still to this day but it is now dead.

Summary
This is one of those games you tend to keep on your desktop for years and can always come back to it and say "That's why it's still there!". I began playing this game waaay back in the beta form when you only had the beach map, which is still my favorite. In addition to fun and gun, this game has developed over the years into one of those that I consider "solid" games. They aren't the best graphics, but they aren't bad either. They don't break molds, but they keep true to the basics.
