There has been a second war in Heaven, and a group of rebellious angels has descended to Earth to destroy humankind. These angels, known as the Fallen, are jealous of the mortals' preferred place in the universe. You play Malachi, a loyal angel who must take on mortal form and stop the fallen angels. Malachi's adventures take him from the depths of Hell, to war-torn cities, to the vastness of uncharted space. As Malachi progresses, he learns more of the Fallen's plans.
This is a 3D first-person shooter, but it is not just an aim-and-shoot type of game, since the plot is integrated into the game. You'll have to speak and interact with a number of third-party characters to gain information, acquire needed items, or get past certain obstacles.
This demo contains three different difficulty levels, in which you must infiltrate the city's power plant to rendevous with an ally.

I cannot imagine why would someone not recommend this game. The game storyline and the spellcasting abilities of your character makes it much more interesting than the simple 'shoot all' type of game.

I used to play this all the time with DirextX 7..its very cool. it would/will be an awesome demo if its ever retooled for dx8. there is a patch available for the full game's dx8 issues, but i just tried it on the demo and I'm not sure if it was made for it. cnet should probably remove it if it has such major unavoidable system conflicts

This game rocks! My only complaint is that you have to use a lot of keyboard commands to use some of the weapons. This can get difficult when you're getting shot at or attacked. The graphics are good (although gory), the sound is good and the game is very stable. Definately worth the download. For a demo there's a lot to do and it can take you quite a while to get tired of it.

This game totally outdoes Quake III for me. On my Athlon 900, 192 PC133, RivaTNT2, i get much better speeds on Requiem at 1024x768 then Quake, and it just looks better too! But besides the pure hardware specs, the game itself is more then just a 3d-shooter, as it incorporates the plot and storyline right into the game. You don't have to kill this big monster to get to the next level, but rather talk to people on the streets, find out whats going on, learn about a new objective. That, combined with special powers that turn enemies into salt or make their blood boil, really make me choose Requiem: Avenging Angel over Quake III any day. Check it out!

I bought the game, believing really I found something cool. Not at all! No levels of difficulty, the game is designed poorly, you begin in hell where you see only awful creature and blood, blood and blood. Plus the suffering humans on many cross that you cannot help! No this game just have a stressing ambiance and the documentation and the easyness to play is fairly poor! Just don't download or buy it at all!
