• Faster database

  Pros

  I have a large flat file database that gets hit with a lot of queries and generates a lot of temp files. Some of these can take around 20 minutes to run. Having it on ramdisk cuts the times down to around 5-6 minutes. Multiply that a couple times a day and I saved a LOT of time.

  Better explanation of the many features.

  I could not test it regretably as it would not load on Windows 8.1 ( how long has this version been out??? wASW RATHER ANNOYED AS WOULD HAVE BOUGH IT AND WAS A FAIR TRIALER

• SuperSpeed Licensing Terms are a Super Rip-Off!

  RamDisk Plus does what it is designed to do: it creates a RAMdisk on your physical RAM to use as a virtual disk.

  Cons

  SuperSpeed imposes brutal licensing terms upon its customers. Additionally, SuperSpeed demands to know the name of your PC and other private info before issuing a license....even after the customer has sent payment!

  Summary

  There is a sharp conflict between the reviews posted about RamDisk Plus. For that reason, I decided to vocalize my dissent too. The issue is not with the software itself, because the software works as advertised. The profound issue is the cruel & avaricious licensing terms that are imposed upon buyers of RamDisk Plus. This is what you can expect AFTER you send payment: 1. Instead of a license, SuperSpeed sends an email demanding the name of your PC and other private info before sending the license. 2. You can install the license on ONLY ONE PC...and only one PC...forever! That means if you retire your old PC and uninstall RamDisk Plus, SuperSpeed will not let you use your license on your new PC. One license per PC is the norm...but one license dedicated to one PC forever is totally wrong and very greedy! 3. You can not install your license twice on the SAME PC! That means if you have two operating systems installed on the same PC, SuperSpeed will not allow you to install RamDisk Plus in both operating systems on the SAME PC. Virtually every other software developer lets customers use the same license twice for a dual installation in the SAME PC. I hate software pirates! Pirates have put some of my favorite small software developers out of business. Pirates cause higher prices for consumers, like me, because developers must raise prices for their software to recoup losses from software theft. Guess who I hate more than software pirates? I hate software developers who screw their customers who pay for software licenses. That is the basis of my complaint with SuperSpeed.

  Pros

  IOPS are through the roof with RAMDisk. Our company has worked closely with Neil on implementation and we love this product.

  Cons

  None at all.

  Summary

  No spyware, no crashes after months in production... I can't remember giving them anything more than our server names and credit card info. What's that guy going on about? What we did find was a solution to a problem and a great one at that. THANK YOU Superspeed team!

  Pros

  We use this product, as do many other businesses, in our SQL infrastructure with amazing results. Whenever I've had a question, support has been quick to reply... even at 11pm on a Friday night. Our index maintenance tasks have dropped from 30 minutes down to one or two because RAM is so much faster than disk. Queries run insanely fast as well. I can't think of a product that has given my company such dramatic results overnight. This is a must have for anyone that does a lot of read/writes!

  Cons

  I can't think of one. It works, it works well... and it removes a massive bottleneck for us. External clients and employees noticed an immediate difference and were very happy.

  Summary

  This is a product for everyone. I'm not sure why the trollish poster had so much of a problem. It sounds like he wanted a free meal. I can assure you that we thoroughly test all software coming into our infrastructure and there isn't any spyware here. Just a solid product that I'd back 24/7/365. -An IT Director

• I can't use it, expired

  I can't use it since I installed it. I installed it at Aug.20 and after that it said that it's already expired since July 1, 2011. I don't know what I did wrong, I didn't change any setting in my PC (date, etc.)

  I hope I'm not giving a wrong impression to this product since I have to give a star rating and I have no choice but to give it a 1 star.

  Pros

  I have been using this product successfully for months, no problems, it's great.

  Cons

  License being based on hostname, so I cannot move the product to a different laptop as I upgrade my hardware or if I need to change the machine name for compatibility on a different network.

  Summary

  It's definitely worth it. It's totally reliable in my experience.

  Pros

  Easy to use, nice features like multiple ram disks and the ability to save data at shutdown.

  Cons

  I have 2 partitions on the same physical drive. The licensing code generates 2 different keys, so I assume that I would have to pay twice to use this on the same physical machine. And I cannot uninstall it using Add/Remove Programs. I removed the ram disk then rebooted, then tried Add/Remove Programs. When I clicked Change/Remove it just came right back. I even manually deleted the drivers and virtual bus, rebooted, and tried again. Could not uninstall. Had to restore my partition from a Ghost backup. Bad news!
