"Advanced root-kit remover, not for the ignorant."
Version: Radix Anti-Rootkit 1.0
Pros
Extremely advanced detection capabilities.
Capable of fixing almost anything it detects.Cons
Extraordinarily powerful, could easily destroy your system if used improperly.
Very advanced interface, requires a good understanding of how a computer works to properly use.Summary
This program is capable of detecting and removing almost any root-kit out there. It can even fix many of the files that will have been modified by the root-kits.
However, as this program requires more knowledge than the average user is likely to have, find someone like a sysadmin to help, or you run the risk of permanent damage to your data.
Unfortunately, for the average user it would probably be simpler to just back up your data from safe mode and then reformat your computer. -
"Too difficult to use."
Version: Radix Anti-Rootkit 1.0
Pros
Can't find rootkit, and doesn't provide any help with registry.
Cons
Wanted to edit registry files where harm occurred, but nothing was found, and no ability to locate corrupt registry entries.
Summary
Hoping for program that not only locates rootkit trojans, but also identifies corrupt registry entries, and either auto-corrects or allows the user to edit to eliminate contamination. This product could not even detect the rootkit problem.

"Highly effective--strongly recommended but use caution"
Version: Radix Anti-Rootkit 1.0
Pros
This system might be the best to locate & remove rootkit problems. It gives explanations & opportunity to investigate programs before you delete them. Radix seems to find everything. I would uncheck the registry which could do irreparable damage.
Cons
Invesitgate the listed programs on google. I found my zone alarm listed as a rootkit. Don't delete everything because you could be damaging your good programs too. Use caution. This software is likely the best free system available.
Summary
Strongly recommend this free software as a supplement to other systems to protect your computer. Having several layers of anti-spyware sytems in addition to your one virus protection device is a good thing. What malabytes & superantispyware & spybot don't catch, this will. Use caution before you delete. Be careful what files you install & which websites you visit otherwise happy web-surfing.

"I hate it!"
Version: Radix Anti-Rootkit 1.0
Pros
It downloaded fine and scanned my system.
Cons
I t scanned my system then totally vanished, now im worried that my private info was stolen.
-
"Overall this seems to be a good program."
Version: Radix Anti-Rootkit 1.0
Pros
It is a very light weight program that scans through the computer relatively fast without slowing the user down.
Cons
While scanning there seems to be no way to cancel, stop, or pause the scan, also this program seems to have an issue with my files and folders that have Japanese, Chinese, or Korean characters in the name..
Summary
This program is worth downloading, but only to users who use roman characters regularly. Users who have a computer in a language that uses a non-roman based alphabet and name their files and folders accordingly will most likely have issues.

Cons
It states it is a trial when you download it onto your computer.
-
