Publisher's description
From Wieser Software :RIP Vinyl is a direct to disk recorder that allows you to record from any audio source on your sound card, and produce WAV or MP3 files, which can then be burned onto a CD-R or iPod for your own personal use while away from home. The software automatically detects tracks using parameters you configure, and can record a 78 on a 45 RPM player. In addition, it automatically discards tracks shorter than a threshold.
It includes features to allow you to schedule recordings, and break tracks after a fixed time, to aid transfer of books on tape. The software compresses to disk while recording. Compression is done via Microsoft's Audio Compression Manager and can use any ACM codec that is licensed for encoding. The software includes a peak VU meter. When you install, we automatically enable the Media Player 10 MP3 encoder for use with RIP Vinyl if present. In addition, the program now supports USB turntables and tape decks, allowing you to listen on your PC speakers or headphones while recording from these devices.
What's new in this version:
Version 4.3 now allows you to record what you are listening to on Vista, even if your sound card doesn't support the What U Hear function.More popular Rippers & Converting Software downloads

Version: RIP Vinyl 4.3
"Great program, and well worth the cost"
Pros: Been using it for a couple of years now, mainly to record vinyl, but also to capture sounds through the pc so if you can hear it you can grab it.
Cons: It's not free, but after the trial, realised it did everything I was looking for, I bought it within a week. [and use it in conjunction with audacity]
Got to remember to change the folder/file it's outputting to, but just a small niggle - See 1 user review Write review
