"Sort of Works, Sort of Doesn't"
Version: Qustodio 1.90
Pros
Free
Easy to Install
Sends Daily Emails of Kids' ActivityCons
No way to add exceptions for sites it blocks that it shouldn't
ZERO and I really mean, LESS THAN ZERO, customer supportSummary
Right off the bat, this program flat-out refused to allow us to connect to Blockland. The kids LOVE Blockland so my husband and I tried everything to make it work. There was absolutely NO place we could find to add an exception for the Blockland site. We uninstalled the program and contacted customer support. NO response AT ALL to our problem. They just sent us a link to their 'better' version and it wouldn't do it either. My husband emails again and this time, ZERO response! Customer Support is non-existent.

None that I can think of
Summary
This is a great product. It monitors all computer activity and blocks sites and allows me to add or delete sites from the blocked list. Just yesterday I noticed one of my kids had visited some questionable websites, and watched some youtube videos while they were supposedly doing homework. Because of Qustodio, I saw the sites and was able to watch the videos that my child had watched. That led to a very good discussion with my child, about priorities, being trustworthy, and our worldview. That would not have happened without Qustodio. Also Qustodio employees monitor their help forum and are very responsive.

"useful but a resource hog"
Version: Qustodio 1.90
Pros
Good that it was configurable. It was relatively easy to add URLs to the block list.
Cons
Bad that I did not receive a response to a question I sent to the company. It has been over 2 months since I sent the question.
Also bad that the program showed up on the task manager as the most intense user of resources, even when it was disabled. Our PC (a Dell from 2008 running Windows XP) started to crash a few weeks after Qustodio was installed; the last crash report I received identified Qustodio as the cause.
Also bad that we often had trouble reaching the Qustodio server when attempting to temporarily disable the software.Summary
This is a good idea for parental control software, but it didn't fit our needs. We need something that doesn't use as much of our computer's resources. An active user group or a responsive customer service department also would have been a big plus.
