"Good facade, poor functionality, dismal support."
Version: ProgeCAD 2009 Professional 9.0.26.6
Pros
The program is generally functional and, at first glance, seems like autoCAD's twin. The price point is alluring, and if you have time to find or build any "express" tool that you need for your business, it is a fantastic steal.
Cons
There is no replacement for the pedit>multiple command. After an exhaustive search, I contacted support to see if I had overlooked anything. ProgeSOFT could not tell me if their software had such a functionality or not. I was advised to keep looking.
Summary
I have a feeling that this software is missing a great deal of the out of the box functionality of AutoCAD, just like it is missing this particular functionality. However, to add insult to injury, the lack of professionalism in this response from their customer support is shocking. Shouldn't a representative of the software know *exactly* what it does, or be able to look it up or ask a colleague? Instead of finding out and saying yes or no, I am sent on a goose chase (which I have already exhausted all of the below methods). See below:
I am not sure if progeCAD has that function or not. Try looking in the express tools which has it's own pulldown. You might find something there. Also, check the help files, and you could also try using the polyline command and join them there. There might also be free autolisp out there that can do the trick for no, or low cost. Thank you

Person Notes I downloaded progeCAD after reading online comparisons to AutoCAD. I'd like to be able to recommend to our IT department that we move over to progeCAD from AutoCAD LT.
The main problem that I run into is that we do a lot of drawing clean up for customers. They tend to make a lot of drawings where the line endpoints don't match up, and this is crucial for us because we use the drawing for automated production. AutoCAD has a feature that joins multiple polylines using a "fudge factor," or a distance between lines that is acceptable.
Is there any way to replicate this functionality in progeCAD without having to personally write script?

I guess you get what you pay for. Good thing I didn't pay for it. The trial was enough headache. (Not to mention the ridiculous security hoops you have to jump through just to download the program. This would not be so frustrating if the time in-between confirmation emails didn't take 45 min to 2 days.) -
