CNET Editors' review
It's the portable part of this app's title that's important. This publisher doesn't create the Sunbird calendar, he leaves that to Mozilla. All he does is add a launcher to it, allowing you to take your calendar anywhere.
Suffice it to say that Sunbird is a good calendar program that's as easy to use as other Mozilla-developed tools. The distinctive feature of the free Portable Sunbird is the ability to easily take your calendar with you. With a couple of clicks, users can quickly store their calendar on a USB or CD. The process proved to be quick and reliable in our tests, with saved calendar information all present and accounted for when exported from the portable device.
For those without a laptop who travel often, or for anyone who uses multiple computers in a day, this can be a great way to keep on task no matter where you are. If you don't currently have a calendar program, Portable Sunbird offers all the conveniences of Mozilla's Sunbird with the added benefit of easy portability, and it's offered free of charge.
Publisher's Description
From PortableApps:
Portable Sunbird is the handy Mozilla Sunbird calendar and task manager packaged as a portable app, so you can take your calendar and to do list with you. The Sunbird Project is a redesign of the Mozilla Calendar component. The goal is to produce a cross platform standalone calendar application based on Mozilla's XUL user interface language. Sunbird is the standalone form of the Mozilla Calendar. Both use the same base code so their functionality is the same and they share the same bugs and bug fixes. The intended user is someone who uses Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Thunderbird and wants a calendar application based on Mozilla.

"Really impressive for a tiny little app"
Version: Portable Sunbird 0.3.1 rev 2
Pros
One feature totally sold me: sync with online calendars. With a plug-in from Mozilla's website, I was able to effortlessly sync with Google Calendar. Even more impressive was that it was able to sync my to-do list with rememberthemilk.com!
Cons
I don't like the complexity of the folder structure it creates on the flash drive during its "installation". I prefer to keep things very simple on my flash drive, so I know exactly what's where, and I wish that were easier with this program
Summary
Excellent all around. Program responsiveness is of course limited by the flash drive's transfer speed, but that's inevitable. There aren't many plug-ins available for it yet, but the Google Calendar plug-in was the only one I was really interested in anyway.
FYI, this is not the newest version of the program, which is currently at version 0.8
The author is also very open to suggestions and reviews, which I always appreciate.
