PixFix--free photo recovery software (for images up to 1mb) will recover lost corrupted or deleted photos from hard disks, cameras, USB memory sticks and media cards, even when they've been reformatted or corrupted. A low cost upgrade ($9.95) is available to recover the largest of photos and also unlocks the ability to selectively erase traces of previously deleted photographs which could otherwise be recovered. PixFix can effectively locate and recover deleted photos from hard disks, cameras, USB memory sticks and media cards, even when they've been reformatted or corrupted. PixFix technology is also capable of reconstructing fragmented image files and is capable of recovering deleted photos which many other photo recovery software utilities cannot begin to find, including RAW files. PixFix can be copied anywhere, even memory cards, and run for immediate photo recovery saving the photos you choose to the location you specify, in complete safety. PixFix reads NTFS and FAT 32, 16 and 12 file systems (commonly used on cameras). In addition, PixFix supports the following memory cards; Compact Flash, MicroDrive, SmartMedia & MultiMedia cards, Standard, Micro & Mini Secure Digital (including High Capacity) & Sony Memory Sticks. Version 3.5 build 8078 adds GIF recovery & secure eradication, improves operation speed, and adds signatures.

Not Really Free...Unless you like grey photos.

Downloads and installs easy and is simple to use (if it only worked).
Cons
When you use it, you end up with grey recovered pics because you have to register it (PAY) for the pics to be visible.
Summary
This is advertised as a Free product; however, it seems to do nothing unless you pay the fee and register it. Shouldn't be advertised as Free when there is a Fee! I don't usually gripe about free programs but this one didn't even come close to doing anything useful except create some grey spots where photos should have been.
Fantastic App and the price can't be beat!

Easy to use interface. Very fast.
Cons
Needs a drive letter to search so you must have some sort of card reader as Windows does not assign a drive letter to cameras.
Summary
I have tried different apps over the years and have never come across such an easy to use, quick, and FREE app. If you or someone you know just deleted their pictures off of some sort of flash media use this app!

Good for recovering images on your harddisk already, not on your camera.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Mar 27, 2010<p/>Once I got my Camera hooked up via a card reader, PixFlix recognized it and found all my photos. There update website is off- be very careful you don't accidentally download 'TraceErase' instead of 'PixFlix' because they look very similar and you will wipe away any chance of recovering your photos!

I for some reason couldn't access my memory card that had 2G memory worth of images from a trip, and was devestated... pixfix RECOVERED ALL OF THEM!!! nuff said... oh... and I found other great uses which it works great for, this is a great product

For what it does... nothing. Easy to use, delivers exactly as promised. Except maybe... it is not FBI friendly (they may use it, but they don't necessarily want you too, lol)
Summary
This program is worth its weight in gold, the first time you ever think you've lost photos or data, etc... that you think is lost forever... but somehow, like magic, it isn't, this software somehow finds it and recovers it... but to make things interesting... it will also get rid of anything you do want permanently deleated. This is an absolute must have if you ever lose data on a card or your drive. And and absolute must have if you ever plan on retiring your computer (or giving it to someone else) as it will wipe your drive clean (for sure). Absolutely amazing product. KUDOS! Thanks for saving my pics!!! I'm very impressed and couldn't be more pleased:)

Pros
This product is perfect for restoring lost or corrupt files from any drive. I had lost some files on my SD card which were irreplaceable an I was able to get them back. I was not able to see them on my camera or Card reader was got them back.
Cons
There are not cons, it works. Most pics are under 1mb.

IT WORKS!!!! Give it a try it's free and if you have larger files it's only $10 when others start at $30.
