From Jacek Pazera:
Pazera Free FLV to AVI Converter is the free application that converts Flash Video files (FLV, SWF) to AVI or MPG (MPEG-1, MPEG-2). FLV files are commonly used in the Internet by YouTube, Yahoo Video and other video services, but hat files are not supported by Windows Media Player and other popular media players. To display FLV video you need to convert that file into more popular format, such as AVI or MPG.
The program has a number of predefined settings (profiles) specially designed for novice users, while more advanced users can customize video and audio encoding parameters used by encoder: audio and video codec, audio and video bitrate, audio track to convert, fps, sampling frequency, resolution, volume, deinterlacing, and other. The application interface is very simple and user-friendly. To convert flash video files, just drag & drop them into the main window and click the CONVERT button.
1) It is completely weighed down with bloatware, adware/sneaky browser changing garbage, etc. If you don't do advanced install, and even then be very careful, you'll load your system with nonsense.
2) After being very careful to avoid all of that nonsense, I installed it...and it did virtually nothing. Several attempts with several files, and each output within seconds claiming it was done. The result was 17 seconds each of converted video - that's it. Every one, despite the original file size or type...17 seconds. Garbage. Don't waste your time.
came with huge number of adware and malware. got warnings from antivirus and scanning computer with malwarebytes and spybot afterwards, lots of lots of files were found. also modifies chrome and internet explorer preferences to make them less secure.
on top of this, the damn main program doesnt even work as it's supposed to. when converting the files, there is a huge video delay to the audio (out of sync) so its basically useless
also whats up with the CNet downloader. is that really neccessary? Download a downloader, in order to download a file? Really?
easily installs and converts files easily and not just FLV to AVI, also Quicktime to AVI. Really is free - not a trial version.
don't do download express, use the Optional download, read each screen of small font text to see it's trying to download other programs to pay for itself and click No Thanks shadowed button on the left, not Next, and it will not download other stuff and finally install Pazera only. Many other free software use this process.
drag and drop didn't work after I loaded the file to be converted it claimed done in under 5 seconds, then gave an error message. What a waste of time. Don't even bother. I guess I'm stuck using VLC to play these types of files...
I read the ones that stated this was a GREAT program, They fooled me into time wastage. Guess I'll have to torrent download a hacked pro converter somewhere else! Don't want to but when your broke no $$ then one does what one has to do to get by!
Did an AVG routine scan after loading and found at least 5 unauthorized add-ons and plug-ins as well as 5 trojan horses. Upon removal, AVG again popped up to help in a removal Pazera was resisting. This software has been fully hijacked and is extremely dangerous.
I wouldn't have taken the time to join CNET if I wasn't very concerned about other who may consider downloading this software. It is full of trojans, malware and resists removal. Don't mess with it!
I received the following message when installation the software "Sorry, the files could not be downloaded. Click 'Retry' to try downloading the files again, or click 'Next' to continue installing anyway." and hence was unable to install the program
