Perform any migration, no matter the source or target.
No matter the source or target - Paragon Drive Copy 12 works in every migration! You no longer need to spend hours performing tedious, complicated re-installations when buying or upgrading your PC. Take all the best from the system you're used to - and simply move it to the new environment. Use Drive Copy 12 Professional for fast, efficient computer migrations of any software/hardware combination, from any source, to any target. Key benefits of Paragon Drive Copy 12: *Everyday migrations. Our easy-to-use Migrate Hard Disk Drive wizard helps you upgrade your hard drive, migrate to new hardware, or use your old PC in a virtual environment, and more. *Make your system mobile. Create a virtual clone of your PC, including operating system, drivers and settings, all your applications and files. Save it to the USB hard drive and use it on another computer, just as if you're working from your own PC. *Take advantage of SSD drives. Its handy intuitive Migrate OS to SSD wizard performs fast and safe Windows migrations to new storage devices (HDD or SSD) and even downsizes to smaller capacity drives. *Move to 3TB drive. Traditional MBR partitioning schemes do not work with HDD bigger than 2.2TB. That's why, Paragon Software has developed a workaround method for MBR OS migration to Retained GPT (also known as Hybrid GPT) drives. Drive Copy 12 allows you to use 100% of high-capacity drives. Migrate to new hard drive via Container File. Drive Copy 12 migrates your notebook to a new hard drive the easy way - migrate you system to a Virtual Container, replace your old HDD, then restore your system to the new one.
Paid for a solution to let me migrate my OS to an SSD. It failed. The OS refused to receive updates after using it. Support from Paragon was useless and they actually insulted me on the phone. When I asked to speak to a supervisor it got worse.
Summary
Not only did I lose the $20 I spent on their software, I also ended up getting a new OS for another $100.
It works so far and I received a promotional copy.

Pros
The promotional copy works so far. It was given to me for free. There is no glitches yet.
Cons
You never know until it is needed whether the restore is successful.
Summary
Jesus Christ! I got this from a promo Paragon was/is doing. So I really cannot complain. It is able to accurately identify separate partitions of different types. The compression is impressive. I was able to save a partition of Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate (English 32-bit Edition) in 4 to 5 discs. This is good considering it saves me the hassle of dealing with Microsoft again if I needed to activate it again when it goes down for viruses. It also seems to have saved all my settings.

Updated on Mar 9, 2013
Jesus Christ! I had to restore my cousin's Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate (English 32-bit Edition) for some reason. I had to use the repair option found on my original Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate disc. On that disc, there is also a "repair" option in addition to an install option. So just choose that if you have boot problems loading up your Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate. I also had my boot portion point to my Mac partition so I had to use my Mac OS X Mountain Lion disc to fix the startup pointer. So it is a little complicated, however, you should also know you may need try the repair boot option again until it worked like I did.
Windows 7 Pro 64-bit users beware!

Pros
Free. Easy to install
Cons
When told to restart the computer after loading, the computer would not restart. Something happened to the startup files, and I had to repair the startup files with the Windows 7 DVD. Not good!
Summary
Might be OK with Win XP, but Windows 7 users might be at risk.
Excellent product

Summary
I have been using Drive Copy since Version 8.5.
Version 11 seems to have resolved the 'quirks' of earlier versions.
I backup my entire hard drive every month. Over the years I have had a couple of instances where I needed to revert to the backup due to an HDD problem. I was able to boot up the backup and carry on. It havs saved me hours of work.
Glad I bought it.

Updated on Oct 5, 2011
Excellent product.
I make a bootable back-up of my entire disk every month.

Pros
Simple, wizard-driven interface.
Cons
Can't actually get the free version to perform an image copy, so you waste money to discover it doesn't work.
Summary
I suspect all those reviews from December 30, 2008 are from Paragon employees and not from real people.
I was looking into getting software to image my current C-drive so that I could replace it with a nifty, new 1TB drive. I had tried some other imaging software and decided to give this a try. I allowed my desperation to override my common sense and I paid for a copy of this software. Unfortunately, I was unable to get any image of my C-drive no matter what I tried. All attempts to image failed and when I scheduled an image copy for after reboot (but before your system loads Windows), that too failed.
I contacted Paragon about this and they requested some logs be sent to them. OK, I did that. Then they asked me if I could remove the card readers on my PC. What the smeg card readers have to do with imaging my HD, I'll never know and since I've no intention of removing hardware of any kind, I refused. So they then suggested that I give them remote access to my machine and provided a tool to do so. I was reluctant, but agreed. Unfortunately, the tech never showed up but he did send an apology e-mail. After playing tag with them several times, I grew weary and just quit.
Basically, I don't know why this software is failing on the image copy. However, the fact that you have to pay for the software before getting to do an actual image combined with the software company's reluctance to give up money when they could easily see from the logs how I had no success at creating an image, I have to wholeheartedly suggest you pass this and move on to something better.
An optimal solution for copying hard drive.

This tool helped me a lot when I had to clone a windows installation to several machines. I managed to convince my boss to buy it and it really saved a lot of time for me.
