Publisher's description
From DreamCatcher Interactive :Stranded in a place between heaven and hell, your time of judgment is at hand. The underworld is on the verge of unholy war, and you are but a pawn in the infernal battle. As you fight for your purification, the truths behind the deceptions are revealed.
This demo features the latest version of the PAIN Engine (1.4) and one battle from the third chapter of Painkiller. In the popular ""Military Base"" level, new effects such as heat and haze distortion, light blooms, per pixel specular mapping, new shader effects and tweaks for the latest video cards are now included as a preview of what the PAIN Engine will offer in the upcoming expansion pack Painkiller: Battle out of Hell.

Version: Painkiller demo 3
Pros: unlike the other reviews i found this ran alright, and manged to run it with a 256mb nvidia geforce 6200 on high settings, however i would recommend using medium settings to get much better frame rates
a crackin game

Version: Painkiller demo 3
"Fast paced 1st person shooter"
Pros: Good graphics and frame rate, it simply cruises on my notebook, Centrino 1.7 with 128mb ATI Mobility Radeon and 1GB RAM I was actually quite suprised. Game has a nice atmosphere to it, nothing better than shooting an old school arrows around, and the spinning blade slicing and dicing; love it.
Cons: The last 1st person shooter I sat down and played was Half-Life, so if anything this game was just a little too fast for me. Gets a little repetative with swarms of demons and whatever hacking the crap out of you. And those little skeleton bastards, well they just pissed me off. And you can't save game either in the demo, so now I have to start again from scratch. All in all though it was certainly worth the download.

Version: Painkiller demo 3
Pros: looks good
Cons: trying to play at snail pace is very annoying

Version: Painkiller demo 3
Summary: I HAVE A DECENT MACHINE WITH A 256 MEG NVIVIA GEFORCE. RAN REALLY SLOW. I SEEN ANOTHER EVIEW SIMILAR TO THIS AND I HAVE TO AGREE!

Version: Painkiller demo 3
Summary: It seems the improvements were tailored toward the high end rigs. I have a 2.6 cpu 1 gb of ram ati 9800 and the game dragged. I even lowered all texture details and unchecked all advance options. I love Painkiller just can't play demo3.
