With OmniPlan, you can create logical, manageable project plans with Gantt charts, schedules, summaries, milestones, and critical paths. Break down the tasks needed to make your project a success, optimize resources, and streamline budgets. It's project management made painless.
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Erleichtert mir meine Arbeit, da OmniPlan mich entlastet. Und keine Angst, dass plötzlich Daten verschwinden.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
When opening a MS Project file it would take a long time to open, when modifying the data it would take about 5 seconds to display a keystroke. I contacted tech support and they said it does that when there are 40 items or more and we could break up the project which would not help.
Simple project planning, great price

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I am using OmniPlan for my PhD thesis research, which means I got it at the discounted academic rate. Nevertheless, the $149 price is reasonable considering the prices of the competition.
There aren't quite as many features to this program as other similar offerings, but from this limitation it gains a tremendous advantage for a large potential audience. Most organizations that could benefit from project management would find OmniPlan far simpler to use and easier to integrate with their routines than the often-impenetrable Microsoft Project (the only other such software with which I am familar).
For me, it worked very well, and within a few hours I was using its more advanced features to my benefit. Shallow learning curve and nicely-implemented features make this a truly good bargain for project management.

Glorified Outliner?

Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I've pushed this app from every angle over the past month, and in the end it comes across as a glorified omnioutliner. I suppose the potential highlights are aimed at people and teams that have more assets to manage than OO is ready to handle by default. I use Kinkless GTD with OmniOutliner and OmniPlan hasn't seemed real promising at luring me away any time soon. Maybe there's hope for more functionality in the future, after all, we are talking about OmniGroup here, and they are very good at making simple yet powerful, beautiful and elegant applications (especially with the latest batch of apps within the past couple years). The other hopeful positive that peeps should keep their eyes on is the seamless integration b/w each OmniApp. Note OG also should be complimented for using the LinkBack framework in their development. Hope OP eventual pans out!
