Surfs the internet from page to page.
No longer supported, cannot use new extensions for some add-ons, no fancy bells and whistles. Speeds are ok for an older machine, though there are better alternatives. It just can't compete with the powerhouses of today anymore.

Usefull for backward compatibility testing
You must be crazy to use this junk in XXI century. Seriously outdated.
If you want Netscape-style browser get up-to-date version of Netscape (7) or get new Mozilla.
I have download, and instaled it without any problem so far speed is good, features are good and is stable also, u can go for it..
To all the people comparing this to IE6: what are you talking about??? This is an OLD version of netscape. That's like comparing a pentium 4 to an apple 2e. This is good for older computers. However, if you have a fairly new machine, download either netscape 7.1 or mozilla 1.4.
Would rather use IE for speed, but with the XP updates, IE no longer supporst Java. What a waste! So now it's Netscape or nothin', babeeeeee!

You must have lost your mind. Since when did IE not support Java?
With out this here netscape the internet would be nothing at all. I will enjoy my self now!!
I am a IE 5.5 user, it seems like I try to download or install from a CD Netscape it stalls, crashes, or somehow freezes, I thinks I'll stick to IE 5.5 7.0 & up is a different puppy Back to the Drawing Board People
