CNET Editors' review
There are tons of entertaining and informative videos on the Internet, and one of the most common and lightweight formats for these videos is Flash, or FLV. There are plenty of ways to download videos from sites like YouTube and Dailymotion, but we suspect that many people are disappointed when it becomes apparent that FLV files can't be handled by the average media player. That's where programs like Moyea FLV Player come in. This simple program allows users to view downloaded FLV files as easily as they can view any other video format.
Moyea FLV Player's interface is quite plain and intuitive, not differing significantly from the average media player layout. In fact, the program doesn't offer a whole lot in the way of features, really--just the typical 100 percent, 200 percent, and full-screen views, autoreplay, and so-on. We do like that the program offers a Favorites list, allowing users to keep track of and easily access their favorite videos. The program's online Help file is brief but adequate. Overall, the program is a simple solution to the problem of viewing FLV files, and it doesn't do much else. It can't handle any other file types, so it won't replace your primary media player, but it does a fine job of playing Flash videos. Sometimes all a program needs to be worthwhile is one thing that it does well, and by that criterion, Moyea FLV Player succeeds.
Moyea FLV Player is free. It installs and uninstalls without issues. We recommend this program to all users.

"The sound is almost entirely absent."
Version: Moyea FLV Player 1.6.5
Pros
I could see the actors recreating paleolithic life.
Cons
There's almost no sound.
Summary
I have a Thinkpad Z61M. Never buy a Thinkpad if you want to use the speakers. Thinkpad speakers are all weak.
The sound with other video players is poor. But with FLV Player, it's almost nonexistent! I can just barely, barely hear that these two scientists are talking. It's not even loud enough for me to understand what they're saying. -

"Very poor performer"
Version: Moyea FLV Player 1.6.5
Pros
simple interface
Cons
Banding on graduated shading. Poor AV sync.
Summary
This appears to perform well enough in small screen mode, but click it into full screen mode and Yuk! Poor rendering of graduated shading, causing banding; picture stutter, and poor audio-video sync.
why is there so much rubbish on Cnet that only appeals to the less discriminating?
