CNET Editors' review
Many try to improve on the standard Windows calculator, and Moffsoft FreeCalc does a fairly good job of it. Besides the traditional functions, this calculator offers extras such as SQRT through a bigger, easier interface. Our favorite feature is the "transaction tape," essentially an ongoing record of all calculations performed. You'll never again be at square one after accidentally pressing C--just look at the tape and start from your last calculation. Number crunchers will be sure to appreciate FreeCalc's enhancements to their primary tools.Publisher's Description
From Moffsoft:
Moffsoft FreeCalc is a great replacement for your existing Windows calculator. We took the standard Windows calculator functionality and added a printable/savable transaction tape, sizable display, tray icon, digit groupings, color schemes, double- and triple-zero keys, visible memory value, and an always-on-top setting.

"been using for years -- perfect!"
Version: Moffsoft FreeCalc 1.2.0.6
Pros
Been using the Moffsoft Free Calculator for years. Each time I buy a new computer or replace a hard drive, this is one of the first programs I re-download.
This just your simple, perfectly working calculator with a "virtual paper tape" feature. IF you are at all like me, and susceptible to the occasional wild keystroke, being able to see the "tape" trail as my blazing fingers do their thing is incredibly handy dandy.Cons
none at all (this box requires a minimum of 10 characters...)
Summary
get it -- its free, and super duper awesome!

"It works, it's free & it's got a tape!"
Version: Moffsoft FreeCalc 1.2.0.6
Pros
1. Free
2. Works well & does percentages
3. It's got a running tapeCons
1. Pretty bland looking; more or less flat 2D-looking but who really cares as long as it works?
2. I would like to be able to enlarge it, but again, this is mere nit-picking -
"Works great"

It works without a hitch. The main value is you can just use it without having to think about it.
Cons
Nothing so far.

"Great Software!"
Version: Moffsoft FreeCalc 1.2.0.6
Pros
easy to use
free :-)
frees me from my clunky business calculatorCons
I only with the Clear Tape shortcut key was 1 key and closer to the number pad. When I'm doing data entry, I'm using trying to be speedy so it's a mild hassle to hit "enter + delete" then hit "ok"

"Fair but not great."
Version: Moffsoft FreeCalc 1.2.0.6
Pros
It has a notepad which illustrates the computations made
Cons
The graphics is not that impressive.
Summary
If you want a calculator that shows the computations that you can save - then use this. But as an alternative to the windows calculator this is not worthy as a replacement.

"A real good calculator for a computer."
Version: Moffsoft FreeCalc 1.2.0.6
Pros
The Moffsoft FreeCalc keeps a record of your calculations, which one can check their calculations. It is easy to copy and paste your calculations, if you need to keep a record of them.. Just like using a calculator with a roll of paper in it.
Cons
Been using Moffsoft FreeCalc for several years. I haven't run across any cons.
Summary
My rating is a 5 star.
