Editors' reviewSmall but very efficient, this audio player can play your favorite audio files just like other media players available in the market, but it has some limited extras. MiniPlayer's tiny, straightforward interface includes eight skins. It offers basic functions, such as play, pause, stop, and next/previous song. It also can shuffle tracks. You can easily play a single file or a folder of audio files with a single button click. Unfortunately, music management is not its strength--you cannot create play lists and libraries. It lacks common enhancements, such as graphic equalizers, playback speed options, or visualizations, but it supports different audio and playlist formats. It requires only a small space on your desktop, yet it requires more memory than Windows Media Player. With the availability of more advanced and powerful media players, it would be difficult to recommend this application. But those who want a functional, less-configurable audio player will benefit from this freeware.
A compact and tiny audio player intended to keep the Widget small and save valuable desktop space. It can play a single audio file, a folder full of audio files, or CD audio tracks. You can play audio without Windows Media Player, iTunes, Winamp, or other audio players open. Tested using Windows XP Professional and Windows Media Player 9. The Widget is able to play MP3 (.mp3), WAVE (.wav), WMA (.wma), AIFF (.aif .aiff), and Sun/NeXT (.au .snd) sound files. Accepts Playlist file formats M3U ("m3u"), WPL ("wpl"), or WAX ("wax") containing valid media items. Functions: open and closed modes; display currently playing song, elapsed and remaining time; play/pause/stop, next song/previous song, and random song controls; volume control; click on the 'Mode' button to open the player. See the Widget 'Help' page in the right-click/Menu for details.
