"Outlook Calendar"

Pros
Good, easy to use calendar, works well with my internet email server.
Cons
My Biggest complaint is that the calendar reminders will not work unless Outlook is running. If you use this program everyday and start it when windows starts it's no problem. I don't use it that often and would like the reminders to work on my laptop even when I'm not using Outlook. MS Works used to be the home version and it had a small program that ran in the background just for the calendar when you didn't have works running but Outlook doesn't.
Summary
MS Office is the standard for office work but at home I will not update Office but rather use another calendar program such as Vueminder which will run in the background with little resources.

Summary
Although is under the giant heel of Microsoft, Outlook is the standard e-mail client for home, office and enterprise for a reason. It is perfectly in sync with other Office programs and it is not hard to have most of the data in outlook carried over to other office programs. Features like this make it a must have for an office environment and being one of the only programs to be licences to Exchange makes it a must have for Enterprise or Exchange servers. For the home user, it has automatic POP3 setup for most e-mail providers and simple, easy to use features that make day to day e-mailing easy and less complicated.

Well you can say what you want about the products of Microsoft but nearly 400 000 downloads in less than 2 years is quite impressive. The one and only thing that is really, really getting on my nerves is the search function which is also the reason I use Thunderbird because none of these "third-party" search tools was able to convince me.
