Version: Microsoft Office 2008 12.2.3
"Decent programs that you have to know & use in business"
Pros: I've used Word and Excel for many years. They're powerful, not too hard to master, and have a monopoly in business.
Cons: Programs are slow to start, incredibly bloated with features. The 2008 version is not a noticeable improvement over its predecessor. The new ribbon bar takes up screen space and delivers no real value.

"Sluggish but compatible with it's windows counterpart."
Pros: Hardly ever incompatible with windows office and quite some nice templates
Cons: Strange interface (non-mac) and very slow, even on high-end macbook pro. I got the Dutch version (I'm Dutch) but was used to english versions. Switching to english would mean purchase it again in a different language! How '90's can you get?
Summary: After trying to avoid the purchase this product for a long time, I bought it. Until then, I could manage to produce documents with Open Office and Apple's Pages, Numbers and Keynotes (love it!). However, working at a client that produced tons of exc... read more >>
