Product ranking:#14 in Mouse Drivers
Program is easy to use and install. I found it to be a necessary addition to my utilities tools.
I had to Install and un-install the product a couple of times to get the settings correct. Once I reinstalled it using certain custom settings I was well satisfied with it's operation.

worked perfect after install and choose wireless mouse ver. by name on bottom of mouse,ex.-Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer 2.0 for Wireless Optical 5000
No info at Microsoft or here to first uninstall present Intellipoint software on PC if doesn't have your mouse listed by name on bottom, not retail box name. I have both Wirless Optical 5000 and Laser 6000 4way scroll on pc, both work fine.
Laser 6000 is also on laptop
A great product - if anyone can find a use for it!
Basically it doesn't work. At least not with my Wireless [or should that be Useless?] Desktop Optical system. There is no way of selecting a mouse with a side-scrolling wheel in the set-up which makes the whole thing academic. Of course one could use the mouse for a paperweight.

This should answer any problems, I tried the suggestions after messing around with this thing for about an hour.
It works great.
do not use this.
read the rest of the reviews and take heed !
This driver is absoultely the pits. Ditto to what everybody else has already posted.
This has to be the most stupid piece of software ever!! V4.12 going along fine for older mice, program the key assignment great. Then Microsoft have a great idea with the Tilt Wheel, fantastic! problem is that V5 has no option to program the tilt function, so a combination of the 2 means thats the tilt function is a useful as a chocolate teapot. Dont buy a Tilt wheel MS mouse never mind dl the software.
All my favorite features GONE with IntelliMouse 5.0. And version 4.12 does not support Tilt wheel technology. IÂ’ll stick with my 5 button IntelliMouse optical. Dear Microsoft: You just lost my purchase and many others, because of software. I just got an RMA number for my return. SO MAD
Once installed, you cannot customize by program nor can you use any alpha keys for your mouse functions. I bought a new mouse to game in RtCW:The-WildWest but I should have stuck with my old drivesrs.
Stick with the old version of Intellipoint. This new version is a DOWNGRADE
Microsoft made a great looking, great featured mouse with tons of options. Then they added bluetooth and somewhere in the jumble released V4.9 and V5 of intellipoint and for reasons know only to Bill Gates and his single imaginary friend, the decision must have been taken to remove those additional features users like myself had come to love. The likes of "minimize" on small thumb click are no more and you can't even set the large thumb to a keystroke. What gives? - Perhaps they're waiting to release the "New and Improved 64bit Intellipoint" so that idiots like me and you will cough up more green? - Bill Gates get your eyes re-examined cause I think you've lost the plot.
In Short - Don't Download V5 - If you can stick with V4.1 - its way better
