• Appears to work but ignores crucial data.

  Pros

  Easy to set up. Easy to restore. They've got that part down pat.

  Cons

  When time came to restore my system, after a hardware crash it initially appeared to work, but it then came to light that Memeo does not back up the hidden files on your system. And it was those hidden files that were crucial to restoring my system. It also, as someone else mentioned keeps nagging at you about updates, which really aren't updates but hooks to buy more of Memeo's products.

  Summary

  Until Memeo fixes the two Cons I've mentioned, don't buy it.

  Pros

  Make backing up specific folders from your computer to your external hard drive as easy as plugging in the external drive

  Cons

  It kept telling me there was an update available and each time I tried to update it failed. I tried to get help from Mimeo, but their Tech support SUCKS. They wanted me to pay for the newer version. Plus it slows down your system a lot.

  Summary

  Your system will slow down and their tech support it terrible. Don't bother- their software is flawed and they seem completely incompetent.

  Pros

  Works in creating a backup accessible by both Mac and PC. Just another means of backing up access. Versioning works.

  Cons

  None that I can tell. Works perfectly when I reconnect the drive, changed files are backed up.

  Summary

  This came free on an external drive. Works on both PC and Mac. I save files in compatible format to PC and MAC. This provides me additional access if either system fails ( which can happen... including my Mac (which just failed)). I use CCC for cloning system disk, but this is Mac only.

  It uninstalled itself quickly.

  Cons

  The performance impact on my MacBook was drastic.

  Summary

  After installing it, it took 30 seconds to open a menu. THe entire system slowed to a crawl. I don't know why, nor do I care.

  Pros

  If you need to backup the same files to many locations, then this is the software for you. I backup my mac and pc (they have a pc version as well) to a NAS drive, but I also put files to my .mac account. Now I can finally throw away that horrible iBackup program. Super easy to setup, and it all works in the background as you work away. Great product overall!
