Version: Mailshell Anti-Spam Desktop 3.3d
Pros: When the Mailshell site is up, things work OK. Unfortunately, it goes down more than Yahoo, Google, MSN, AOL, and others combined.
Cons: As a desktop spam filter, it's not bad. But if you need to use Mailshell's service, forget it. For the last month, my login to Mailshell.com has gone up and down, mostly down, like a yo-yo. A letter from their support indicates they make 90% of their revenue from OEM accounts, and that's why we individuals can lump it. I've been a faithful premium-level customer for over seven years now, and that will end this year. There is no forum, and writing their support addresses may get a response in a week or two if you're lucky. They really don't care about customer loyalty, and their letter makes it quite clear. Though they say they've been working on the problem night and day, it's been nearly a month now so either they're incompent or lying. I suspect the latter because they follow the statement with remarks that there's no money in it for them to maintain support for their premium individual users and they're doing it because they're such good people. Pardon if I sound bitter, but it's been a very bad experience lately, especially since I'm paying them the premium service price.
