MacChess is a simple adaptation of this classic strategy game. Features include easy levels for beginners to play, an expanded opening book, an option to show you your best move, and a log to record your moves. In addition, MacChess can play against GNUChess, Crafty, or other chess applications when using the ExaChess Lite utility. MacChess is no cream puff of a game--it has some levels that are mighty hard to whip, and it has won awards in some hardcore computer chess tournaments. It now includes a move generator, a larger chess board and classic piece set, a results window, and new icons.
Nothing, sadly. Downloaded fast but didn't do me any good
Cons
Would not install. I got hqx files and I thing cgx or some such, but they just went round in circles, each one creating one of the others. There was nothing I could install, sorry

Very good program. Can't beat the price, or course. Can beat the game on lower settings. I put it up against Chessmaster at similar strength & timing settings. It beats Chessmaster each time. Congratulations and thanks to the author: Wim van Beusekom.
Great freebie!

The only thing I would ask for is more customizability of the look/graphics. (Most of the board color combinations are hard on the eyes, and the icons for the pieces could be waaay cool with a little design work...) Also, some other comments said you can't choose the level of play, when in fact you can....that must've been a previous version they're talking about.
It's a nice simple version of other on-line games. While this doesn't give you the option to change the level your playing at, it's still nice to have a challenge.
