  never used it - it contains the conduit data miner which is automatically installed without permission so I cancelled the install

  Never worked. AVG caught a threat & removed it before it loaded. The download also added several unwanted programs I didn't know about & wreaked havoc with pop-ups on my browsers.

• Converts files but fills random cells with ads

  Pros

  Converts works files to excel files.

  Cons

  The program fills random cells with ads for purchase of the full version of the software. If you had important information in those cells, they are now gone. I was able to close the files without saving and as such able to avoid wiping any data.

  Summary

  Converts as advertised but forces you to buy the full version by destroying parts of your data.

  Well, it didn't burn my computer up....

  Cons

  Downloaded into iMac; then WinXP (via Parallel Desktop 6). Didn't work at all in iMac; WinXP said it couldn't load it, something about not with Excel 2007 (which I don't have; I have Office 2010). Waste o' time.

  It tries to be clever but ends up being stupid by putting rubbish is some converted cells.

• Worked Beautifully

  Works Beautifully. The program does exactly what I want it to do: Convert WDB files to Excel 2003 (version that I use).

  Cons

  None that I can find.

  Summary

  I received a file from a colleague in Works format. I use Excel 2003 and needed the file to be in that format. This tool did exactly what it said it would do. I didn't have the issues other reviewers reported since I don't use Excel 2007.

  None. Wasted my time trying to download it. No stars if possible.

  Cons

  You get a "Setup error" message which reads: "Could not find Excel 97/2000/XP/2003, installation stopped. Please note: this converter can not work with Excel 2007, because the Excel converter interface does not work any more in Excel 2007."

  So why don't the publishers warn you of this in their review?

  after download found that screen resolution on excel (only) reduced and cannot be restored using control panel.This is a serious problem which will inhibit sales of your products
