LogMeIn Free is a remote access program that allows you to remotely access your computers from a Web browser. It also provides a file sharing solution for when you have large files that you need to share.

Pros

Browser-based computer access: Being able to log in to your account through a Web browser and access a remote computer is a very useful concept, and it works great in LogMeIn. Log-in and access was quick and worked seamlessly in testing.

Good Web interface: You have to log in to the website in order to really test how this app works on the computer it is installed on, and the website works seamlessly. Log-in is quick, and then you just select your computer, log in, and you can access it remotely.

Large file sharing: This is a fantastic alternative to services like Dropbox or Google Drive. LogMeIn allows you to host your files on your own computer, but share a link so that people can transfer a copy directly from your computer to their machine. This is a very effective way to share files, and the app can create a download link that expires in a predetermined number of days with only a few clicks.

Cons

Complicated installation: The installation process was more confusing than it needed to be. The program asked you to create an account through a link that opened a sign-up page in a Web browser. After creating an account, the website tries to prompt you to install the software that you're already installing, which was redundant.

Slow navigation: Through repeated retesting, LogMeIn consistently had problems running smoothly.

Bottom Line

LogMeIn is not without its drawbacks, and the installation could certainly be smoother, but overall it is a good program. The remote access features work well, as does file sharing, and the program itself is very easy to use.
