Publisher's Description
From Yellow Cup:
A dead-simple commercial-removal application designed for Vista Media Center users. Here is zero configuration required, however, there are plenty of options if that's your thing.
Lifextender is pretty simple. It scans the directory that Media Center records TV to every X minutes for new TV shows. All new TV shows are queued up to be analyzed and scanned for annoying commercials. After a show has been analyzed, a new file is created from the original with commercials cut out. The original show is then replaced by the new, commercial-free show. Rinse and repeat.
Version 0.9.4.6 is compatible with Windows Vista Premium and Windows Vista Ultimate.

"Runs on Vista"
Version: Lifextender 0.9.4.6
Pros
Pretty good when it works.
Cons
Does not run on Win 7 64 bit, although advertised as doing so.
-
"Great Program for removing commercials"
Version: Lifextender 0.9.4.6
Pros
Works automatically and does a fair job. Misses some commercials, but you get what you pay for (free), although this is one program I will donate to. $20.00 sounds right.
Cons
Misses some but I can fast forward through those. It does hang up on occasion and I have to cancel and restart the process.
Summary
I wish it worked faster and a little more consistently, but perhaps donating to the shareware will encourage the author to do a little more work on it.

"It does exactly what it says--remove commericals"
Version: Lifextender 0.9.4.6
Pros
Very easy to use and user friendly.
Cons
None--works perfectly and it's free.
Summary
I'd recommend this software for people who record with Windows Media Center. A one hour show becomes 45 minutes, less the annoying commercials.
