Kyodai Mahjongg is a great version of the famous Mahjongg Solitaire (or Shanghai) oriental game. It's been in development for 10 years. The purpose of the game is to remove all the tiles from a board. The tiles must be removed by pairs. The rules are simple and the game is extremely addictive. 2D and 3D mode, hall of fame, user-friendly interface, great and relaxing oriental and electronic music especially composed for the game, lots of mini-games, hundreds of backgrounds, tilesets, layouts and sound effects. Has replaced original Ancient tileset with a sharpened, crisper version which works quite well. Finally added Realistic Stones support for all mini-games. Now you can switch naturally between windowed and maximized modes by double-clicking on the caption or clicking on the Maximize icon, and you can hide the taskbar in maximized mode by unchecking Show Taskbar in the View menu.
Version 1.42: Improved startup sequence, tile texturing, tile borders, support for more skyboxes, No more moves sound effect, replayable hall of fame games, bug fixes.

There are several versions of Mahjongg to choose from. The music is a nice touch. You can scramble the tiles as much as needed.

its got more than Mahjong inside it, a few other formats of the game like Rivers etc. Easy read menus and options/settings.

i'd like to see the tile sizes a bit bigger. Thats the only problem i find with the program cos i'd rather not wear my glasses when i'm relaxing playing the game LOL (guess i'm a lazy old duck lol) But if there was a function in the program to make the tile sizes larger that would be great. If its already there and i've not found it then silly me.

Some minor gui wishes but all in all it represents a heroic effort on the part of writer who obviously has a passion for it.

Really needs to get the eseller thing worked out. I paid for the game, didn't get a registration code and can;t get a reply on my inquires.
Summary
Don't buy it. Put up with the nag in the free version until someone announces that it is straightened out.

Pros
Several different games using the mahjongg tiles. Good graphics. Never had a problem with the program & I've used it in it's different versions for several years.
Cons
Can't get the versions with 3D capability to work on one of my older computers. Not sure why because I've run it on even older computers without a problem. Maybe I just have to tweak stuff a bit more!

Basicly play the free version save your money. Web site claims problems with XYZ but not able to get ahold of anyone to get a correction. I was offered a free upgrade to Vista compatablity version when downloaded would not take originial purchased key that it demanded inorder to unlock new upgrade. So ignore the pop ups and as I do incoorperate them into the game as somekind of hazarded and challene your speed and save your money
