"FATAL Flaw leaves your data exposed"

    July 18, 2012   |   By aconsumer2468

    Version: Keynesis Lockngo 2.5

    Pros

    Completely hides contents when locked.
    Quick to Activate/Deactivate

    Cons

Unless you remember to Lock the drive before ejecting it or shutting down the computer, the drive remains unlocked and your data completely unprotected. It is a real irritation to have to restart the computer just to lock the LocknGo stick.
Very expensive for what it does.

    Summary

Look for another option that offers 'Failsafe' protection for your data i.e. one that locks your data automatically when the USB stick is ejected or the computer is shut down.

    "Mixed Reactions"

    June 13, 2010   |   By theweavers10

    Version: Keynesis Lockngo 2.5

    Pros

    1. Very easy to use.
    2. Keynesis sales staff responded quickly and helpfully when I had problems installing it.

    Cons

    1. It is "single USB" not "single user" i.e. $19 per USB.
    2. My Norton firewall blocked the first download with the messsage "..matches signature of known attack.."
    3. What was going on with the first installation attempt?

    Summary

Overall functionality is exactly what I was looking for, as I carry sensitive client data in the USB drive (I'm a financial adviser) which must not fall into the wrong hands. Hopefully the encryption is strong enough to resist hacking attempts if found.

    Updated on Dec 8, 2010

I recently paid for another copy, mounted on a 2nd USB drive which I use to carry confidential files. It seems to work very well, just what I want. The only problem is with the download. My security software (Norton Internet Security 2010) hates it, and invoked the firewall. I had to go back to Keynesis to use a different procedure, which worked. Of course, I have no real idea as to how the encryption would stand up to a professional attempt to crack it. Let's hope it never comes to that.

    "Almost, but no."

    February 08, 2010   |   By Grafitti Black

    Version: Keynesis Lockngo 2.5

    Pros

It's the only program I have found that can successfully encrypt a flash drive while protecting it from deletion, unlike TrueCrypt or Folder Lock.

    Cons

You have to be logged on as an administrator.

    Summary

It just has one fatal flaw. You have to be logged in as an administrator to use it. That means I can't use it at a library or in class or at work unless I hack into the system and get the admins pass, which, by the way, would be a huge effin' pain! I almost got expelled when I did that very thing in high school (a whole year ago! omg!).

    "Be careful, VERY careful"

    July 21, 2009   |   By Steve_P_UK

    Version: Keynesis Lockngo 2.5

    Pros

Quick and simple to install and use

    Cons

You can lose all your data like I did

    Summary

I used this utility for six months to lock my backed up data on a portable drive I keep off-site. Due to a very simple occurrence (my pc tried to write a file to the backup drive whilst it was in the process of being locked) the locking process failed. Result? The drive is locked and I can't get access to it. Lockngo have tried a few fixes but have now told me I will need to reformat the drive.

    "IS IT JUST ME?"

    November 01, 2007   |   By MUNKYFUK

    Version: Keynesis Lockngo 2.5

    Pros

I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH PUBLISHERS WHO OPEN UP 5 OR 6 DIFFERENT C-NET ACCOUNTS AND WRITE 5 OR 6 DIFFERENT USER REVIEWS THEMSELVES, JUST TO TRY AND DUPE THEIR POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS INTO THINKING THAT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE ACTUALLY TRIED THEIR SOFTWARE AND THINK IT'S THE "BEST NEW PROGRAM YOU COULD FIND" OR SOME OTHER BULL%#*&. . IF I READ A USER REVIEW, I EXPECT IT TO BE FROM A USER, NOT THE IDIOT WHO, ALTHOUGH ABLE TO WRITE A COMPUTER PROGRAM, DOESN'T HAVE ENOUGH UNDERSTANDING OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE TO OMIT SIMPLE GRAMMATICAL ERRORS FROM THEIR SO CALLED "USER" REVIEWS. IF YOU'RE READING THIS: "I CAN TELL ALL THE REVIEWS ARE FROM THE SAME PERSON, AND SO CAN EVERYONE ELSE!!! I FIND IT OFFENSIVE AND MISLEADING!!! PLEASE STOP!!!!

    Cons

    THANK YOU
