From KeithWare :The most annoying thing about AIM is its annoying advertisement on the top of your buddy list. AIM Ad Remover will remove that annoying ad at the top of your buddy list by replacing the AimRes.dll file with a new, ad-free one. Version 1.1 now removes the picture AOL Instant Messenger' picture at the top of your buddy list.

Version: KeithWare's AIM Ad Remover 1.1
"Just what I wanted, a naked Buddy List!"
Pros: Having read the one bad review, I was a little sketchy, but for me it works as it says: totally gets rid of the ad--space and all, making for a much cleaner looking Buddy List.
Installation couldn't have been easier aside from the minor inconvenience of closing out AIM to reopen it a second later.
It must be noted, however, that I'm using the last AIM version (oldversion.com :D) before the big Triton overhaul.
Cons: Nada.

Pros: This program worked flawlessly. It removes the ad giving you more room for your buddy list.
Cons: When you sign on it has a Keithware logo instead of the AIM logo but nothing big.

Pros: It does exactly what it says it does: gets rid of any kind of ad in AIM. It's a small download, and gets the job done in under one minute.
Cons: None. That is, unless you like seeing the AIM yellow figure when you log in.

Pros: This product does what it says it does in terms of removing "AIM" ads...
Cons: What the author doesn't tell you is that he replaces the AIM Ads with his own at the messenger start up screen. It's not necessarily spyware, but you're trading one type of ad for another.

Pros: Great app, does exactly what advertised. Just be sure to use the 98 version of AIM.
I have been using this app for years.
Cons: Nothing unless you like mindless ads (sometimes with audio) using your bandwidth.
