Version: Kate's Video Converter 4.4.0
Pros: Basic, runs Ok
Cons: NOT FREE, you can only convert smaller sized videos and it has a 30 day limit. Then it's 20$.
Summary: Not any better in features and performance than many other FREE video conversion softs. but if you want to really use this one you've got to pay up. Then when you go to their site Firefox WOT tells you that it has poor safety reputation. SO BEWARE!

Version: Kate's Video Converter 4.4.0

Summary: The are far better free conversion programs out there, such as "Any Video Converter" or "Oxelon Media Converter." Kates's Video Converter has a very small footprint and correspondingly small power. I believe it is too light a program for anyone seri... read more >>

Version: Kate's Video Converter 4.4.0
"The BEST SIMPLE converter, high compatability"
Pros: This converter does an excellent job. It has the option of using older codecs such as CinePak and Intel codecs as well as the new ones. This was exactly what I was looking for when trying to place videos into old powerpoint 2000
Cons: Prompts you to register, which only requires an email address. Then it takes you to a web page that has information on purchasing a fake online webcam, kind of sketchy, but there is nothing malicious about the site.
Summary: This is solid software. It does what it claims and does it in a simple, basic, and reliable way. This is definitely going down in my treasure trove of freeware.
