In the realm of privacy-protection applications, this one strikes us as a limited option. Though Jvw History Eraser's tabbed interface is easy to navigate, you'll be forced to look at a large ad for the duration of the short, one-week trial period. Like most apps of this stripe, this one can wipe away your Web-surfing traces, but it only works with Internet Explorer. Though the program can clean up common Windows system areas such as the Recycle Bin, it lacks support for third-party applications and can't irrecoverably delete files. On the plus side, Jvw History Eraser provides a boss key for quickly hiding all open browser windows, as well as a pop-up blocker with a blacklist. Internet Explorer users with very simple needs might take a peek at this app, but the majority of folks can find more powerful solutions, some of which are totally free.

It includes a boss-key IE panic button.
