"Works exactly as described"
Version: Join VOB Files Tool 1
Pros
I use JoinVOBFiles a lot to create a single VOB from an .iso source. It creates a seamless file that plays back perfectly. I would not expect JoinVOBFiles to do any more than just that. Furthermore, I have not experienced the problems reported here by other users, which leads me to think "operator error."
It's free, "lite," and so easy to use a chimp could run it - what more could you want?Cons
None.

"Quick free tool without a bunch of install junk."
Version: Join VOB Files Tool 1
Pros
Works relatively quickly.
Cons
Does not re-encode your timeline so the location of your movie while playing back is mostly showing the end which keeps you from dragging the bar to find a spot in the movie.
It leaves the movie at 4 GB or so whereas rendering in to a new AVI with a program like DVD fab gets you the same thing for around 1.5 GB.Summary
It's free and allows you to get what you want now ... what more do you want? :)

"Works - but pretty crude"
Version: Join VOB Files Tool 1
Pros
It works, is fairly fast & doesn't seem to degrade the images.
Cons
Only works in the root folder, can't cope with long path & file names. Needs beating into submission.
-
"Did what I wanted to do, join 4-6 VOB files"
Version: Join VOB Files Tool 1
Pros
Easy to use
Cons
None, that I can tell.
Summary
Does exactly what it says it will do, join VOB files. If you need to join other video files this isn't the program for you.

"Works as described"
Version: Join VOB Files Tool 1
Pros
Joins vob files as described.
Cons
Nothing major.
Summary
Does the job.
-
"Hardcoded to fill your hard drive"
Version: Join VOB Files Tool 1
Pros
Great idea if it worked.
Cons
This app assumes that you have a giant sized C: Drive. You can say where you want to save your file (eg: D:) but it will still use C: for working. If it runs out of space, it will harm your computer.
Summary
No good.

"Worthless software"
Version: Join VOB Files Tool 1
Pros
Nothing positive
Cons
Does not work. I tried this on two different machines and came to the same conclusion as the others who left low rating comments. My guess is those who posted high ratings have some connection with the developer(s).
Summary
Do not waste your time with this.

"Can't control order.. useless for my need"
Version: Join VOB Files Tool 1
Pros
free. okay for 2 or 3 files
Cons
I wan to join files 1 2 and 3.. no matter how I select them from the open dialog they open in the order 3,2,1. I can Open and add these each one at a time, but what about when I have 10 files!! No drag and drop, or that might be tolerable
Summary
okay if you have 2, maybe 3 files to join.. or you rarely want to join large groups and don't mind about 40 mouse clicks to join 10 files..

"Seems to work fine"
Version: Join VOB Files Tool 1
Pros
Joined 8 VOB files into one big VOB file
Cons
None so far. I've only done one job with it, but that went without a problem.
Summary
A good, free tool.
Did exactly what it was supposed to do without any fuss or muss. An excellent tool.

"It works well with one minor issue"
Version: Join VOB Files Tool 1
Pros
Joins vob files and you don't see where the join took place which is a problem I have when joining avi files
Cons
The minor issue is if you type in the location of the path where you want the output file, the file ends up in the C: root directory. If you click the icon to change this folder, then it works like it is supposed to.
Summary
It works well on Windows XP. I'm happy with it.
