- Summary
The best JPS file viewer I've used
- Pros
- Cons
- Summary
- This is the best Stereo 3D JPS (JPG Stereo) file viewer I've used so far and itÂ’s FREE! DepthCharge is only good as a plug-in, not a as file viewer. H3DView is good, but it doesn't support slide shows, JPSViewer support slide shows and it includes a free plug-in for Internet Explorer that is better than DepthCharge. DepthCharge doesnÂ’t support H3D, or BMS files, while the plug-in that comes with JPSViewer supports BMS, JPS, H3D, and PNS files. BMS, PNS and H3D are good formats for storing your master stereo 3D images in because they support loss-less compression, while JPS does not. One nice feature when using JPSViewerÂ’s plug-in is that you can open up files in JPSViewer while on-line if you double click the plug-in it comes with. The thing I really like about JPSViewer is that it supports massive file drag and drop operations. You can drag and drop tons of files into this viewer at once, not just one at a time like the other viewers IÂ’ve tried. It supports all sorts of viewing modes allowing you to view JPS files with or without 3D glasses. If you own the Extreme 3D System from X3D you have got to get this program. While itÂ’s nice to view images with those old red and blue glasses, they just don't compare to using X3D glasses. This program worked with my X3D glasses right from the start with NO NEED TO SETUP ANYTHING! ThatÂ’s pretty cool. This program does have two down sides. For one, there is no documentation, but then the program is so easy to use it doesnÂ’t really need documentation. The other thing is that the plug-in supports BMS, JPS, H3D, and PNS 3D files but the JPSViewer program only supports JPS files. I suppose this is why itÂ’s free. According to their website there is another version coming out soon that will support all sorts of 3D and 2D file formats.
