Not that very long ago a desktop calendar was a big paper thing that sat on top of your desk (sometimes under your typewriter). Now it's typically a piece of software like Interactive Calendar. This attractive program makes it easy to view a calendar on your computer desktop and keep detailed records of upcoming events. We think it's a nice option if you want something more comprehensive than the built-in Windows calendar but don't want to use the calendar that's integrated into your e-mail client.
Interactive Calendar has a sleek, customizable interface. The calendar is meant to appear as a translucent object on the desktop, but you can adjust its opacity, color, fonts, shadows, and much more, giving it a custom look. You can also specify where on the desktop the calendar appears, and an optional wallpaper changer can add extra pizzazz to the desktop. You can create events with start and end times, and each event also has a text editor area in which notes and other details can be recorded. It didn't appear to us that the program has any way to set alerts, so if you need something that's going to remind you when an event is coming up, Interactive Calendar might not be the best choice. But if you're really just in the market for an attractive, highly customizable desktop calendar and you can depend on yourself to see what upcoming events need your attention, we think Interactive Calendar is a great choice. The program doesn't have a Help file, but most people should be able to figure it out with a bit of experimentation.
Interactive Calendar installs and uninstalls without issues.
These days, being efficient means being organized - that is, able to efficiently plan available time, not miss appointments, relocate without losing much time and so forth. All of this requires keeping countless events in your memory and making sure none of them are conflicting or using specialized software that will do all the hard work for you. If you are a busy person and are looking for a way to plan your personal time with greater efficiency, try Interactive Calendar.
Interactive Calendar is a completely free, feature-packed and extremely customizable desktop calendar that is a pleasure to use and look at. Unlike the majority of its direct competitors, this calendar software renders the calendar grid right on the wallpaper, considerably increasing the speed of refreshes/updates and seamlessly integrating with your Windows theme. Another advantage of Interactive Calendar is the degree of visual customization it supports. You can control nearly every aspect of the calendar's appearance: cell spacing, font size, position on the screen, color, opacity and so on. Which is more, you can use a dozen skins that come with the program or load your own images to serve as background for the calendar. The program also supports three interface variations, which allows it to blend perfectly with any Windows theme. The calendar has several views and allows you easily create and manage tasks, specifying their duration, order, start and end days, description and other parameters. Task descriptions support RTF formatting, allowing you to create properly formatted and well-structured Word-like documents, if need be. Interactive Calendar supports task import (from CSV and the program's own format) and export(to CSV, XML and the program's own DB format). If you are looking for a calendar that would be a pleasure to look at and a snap to use, Interactive Calendar is a perfect candidate. It's fast, customizable and offers everything necessary for efficient time planning.
