Publisher's description
From Out of the Park Developments :Inside the Park Baseball is a baseball role-playing game that lets you become a professional baseball player. Create your character from scratch, get drafted, and then fight your way out of the minor leagues to "The Show". In your role as a big league ballplayer, you'll negotiate your contracts, spend your hard-earned money on some of the over 300 baseball items in the game, and manage aspects of your life both on and off the field. On the field, you can play every single game of your career, as a pitcher or a hitter, with complete in-game control. Off the field, you can enjoy some rest and relaxation, study your craft to improve your abilities, or show off your trophy case. Also: schedule your training program, check all of your stats, get into bar fights with opposing players... if it can happen in real life, it can happen in Inside the Park.

Version: Inside the Park Baseball 1.03
"Slow Simulation, hard to read, not totally baseball...."
Pros: I like the concept. I have been trying to make a game like this for a while, and they have finally done it. It is decent for a first-release.
Cons: oh boy. Well, it's not worth 20 bucks i'll tell you that. First of all, they have white text against a light background, it's like they're secretly trying to make the world go blind!
second, right now I am simulating one week...It has taken about 7 minutes to simulate 5 days, and I have the whole rest of the season to go! Need to speed that up A LOT.
If it weren't for the slow simulation time, I might be able to live with this game. But that and the fact that it's more like those social-networking rpgs, except in this case you can go to bars and pick up COMPUTER women...... uhhhhhhhh........ yea. i went to a bar and picked up a woman.... great.... i thought this was a baseball game....
my final beef is the fact that the cost of equipment is blown WAY out of proportion. a $5,000,000 bat?!?!? I dont care HOW BIG that sweet spot is, no bat is realistically going to cost FIVE MILLION BUCKS! and i haven't even UNLOCKED the other bats.....this is very unrealistic, they should have never even touched the equipment stuff....
To summarize, I would not suggest buying this game right now. Wait for a better, improved version to come out. You can try out the demo, I think you'll get sick of it by the time the 14-day trial runs out. They made a good start, but as with all new releases, it's going to take some work before it is worth the money.

"Good features, but you can't read things."
Pros: There is a lot of detail here, and the game designers were obviously aware of baseball.
Cons: This is not an arcade style game. You can make decisions during games, but there is very little feedback on what you might be doing wrong. The game uses white text on a black-and-white background. It has a stylish look, but you can't read the text in the information boxes. I had so much trouble reading the boxes I couldn't see any point in continuing the game. I mean that literally-- I couldn't SEE the text I needed to read to find out what I was supposed to do.
