Pros
free and works (and they even have both 32-bit and 64-bit, and even a mobile version)
Cons
had to go to their very confusing site (i.e. language barrier), but found the plugin I needed to view raw camera files (e.g. .cr2), and to make the degree of difficulty even higher, you have to find the secret place where Imagine gets installed and drop the .plg file (that's inside the .zip you download) in the plugin folder (C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Imagine\Plugin). This plugin also only shows the thumbnail (I think; i.e. sort of poor quality preview, but at least you can see the file!).

You want to be able to browse your raw camera files (and don't want to pay or use your vendor's app), this can work for you, just note the plugin install.
