• Won't run, adds "anti-virus" programs I don't want.

  -It's free? At least I didn't pay for this garbage.

  Cons

  -Adds unwanted software, even if you custom install and uncheck all the boxes -Program won't run. Instead, loops the installation procedure.

  Summary

  Stay far away. I'm going to look for an alternative.

• Good Quick compare tool for images

  Pros

  Easy to see the differences. Many modes to help change contrast as needed.

  Cons

  no quick way to compare like off of the right click menu. Other comparing tools have this functionality and it make file selection much easier.

  Summary

  Good tool still kind of slow to use. I would give it 4 stars if it gets a right click menu option.

  Pros

  Heat map displays differences well. Easy to spot where it's different.<p>It's free :)

  Cons

  - no drag and drop of files onto application<p>- no "send to.." shell integration<p>It really needs these as browsing to files all the time is annoying.

  Pros

  Useful for determining exactly what pixels have changed, but not much else. Interface is simple and intuitive. There is a button to load the left picture and one for the right. There is a slider to adjust the threshold, and a button to compare. The result is presented in a 3rd, larger window.

  Cons

  There are 4 "modes" to compare, 3 of which only seem to change the color. Would like the slider to be interactive, rather than adjust, then click to see the result.

  Pros

  It's free (a little ad is displayed at the bottom) <p>It overlays the pictures and shows the difference <p>It has an adjustable threshold meter and reports what % pixels have changed.

  Cons

  It has an installer (when it probably could be packaged into a single exe) <p>It only does the things I mentioned - but hey ... it's free - I didn't expect anything more.

  This has potential, but is poorly developed. The version here has a memory leak and locks up after a short while. The interface is also somewhat clumsy. There is a slightly better version on the company website (that does not lock up). IMHO an organization that wants to portray itself as a professional software firm should put out better stuff than this.
