IObit's latest version release brings Malware Fighter to 2.0 and showcases a much more eye-popping design that is more consistent with the modern look and feel of Windows 8.
You'll be greeted with four basic options: Scan, Protect, Update, and Action Center. Since version 1.7, IObit's latest design feels much cleaner and certainly more intuitive for the average user. The original overview graph that the previous version opened with is now tucked away.
Previously included features like cloud scanning and quarantine lists are still present, but reside in a more modernized settings panel to the right, labeled by monochromatic icons. Scanning settings and options exist as on/off switches, similar to those in Windows 8. Make no mistake: Version 2.0 is undoubtedly developed for touch screens.
Though this version is free, that also means it's ad supported. However, IObit has opted to remove all the extraneous social-sharing options, with the exception of a Like button on the bottom right; again, we've never used it but if you're really into it, then the option is there.
We ran a full scan to first test for any bogus claims of "threats" that come from detecting the usual temp files cached by your browser, as well as other common false alerts. IObit came out clean, which was a good sign. Scan speeds were also respectable given the state of our file system. You can also set custom scans and isolate Malware Fighter to look for threats just within your memory processes or select drives.
One minor issue we had with Malware Fighter was that it classifies the absence of Advanced SystemCare and Smart Defrag as "problems." There's no option to clear out these warnings, and choosing to fix them results in an automatic download and installation of IObit's other product offerings.
Compared to its previous version, IObit Version 2.0 is a step in the right direction despite its questionable labeling of ASC and Smart Defrag. But if you're looking for an easy-to-use, lightweight malware scanner, then Malware Fighter does the job.

I bought 2 IObit software's the Kaspersky internet security and the Malware fighter. They BOTH slowed down my computer especially the internet security. When opening the computer it would take a minute or two to where I was allowed to use the computer. It loads SOOooo slowly and it ties up the system in doing so. OH, I was having trouble with both so I tried to delete both. That took an HOURR, with it messing several parts of the program hanging up. I had to reload the software and then delete it again. OH, I tried to get a refund. Of course they can't find my records SOOOooooo NO REFUND

I had to completely reinstall my computer after installing this piece of junk, and I know it was this software, because after I installed this my computer instantly locked up, every single time I tried to boot my computer it would lock up on the desktop and I could not do any thing.

It is well known that it is a chinese company and is is also well known that both the USA and china accuse each other for cyber threats of any kind. 3. It has some third party parthners that provide harmful and scareware software...

Do not use it. Use Malwarbytes or SAS and don't mess with chinese software. It may act like antimalware but in my opinion, it does more than that without the knowledge of the user

I have listed what this product's add-on toolbar did to my computer, and under summary I listed how I finally got rid of it.Cons
IOBit automatically installs Spigot Toolbar upon download. A quick google search of Spigot Redirect Virus will tell you this is bad news. Almost ruined my computer! Toolbar hides in background and is not listed under Programs or detected by task manager. You cannot uninstall it easily as you cannot just quit the program in Task Manager. Antivirus didnt catch it until I did a boot scan. Complete scans with antivirus software, and antimalware software didnt catch it either, since it is supposed to be a "safe part of IOBit Software. CPU was spiking like mad, opening folders and files was slow and sometimes they wouldnt respond, browsers constantly crashing, security updates were not installing into browsers. And my computer was being hijacked spontaneously to malicious websites which I later found out were "updates" to the virus/malware.
Summary
If you already installed this product and you dont see a toolbar (neither did I, and neither did my browsers identify any add-ons or extensions) Be prepared for a heck of a fight getting rid of this. Steps I took were 1. run boot scan with Avast. that found enough of the virus to make it visually appear under programs. 2. Open System Configuration and stop any services or start up's that are related to Spigot. Some of the running software doesnt list Spigot directly but when you check the path you will find out it is a Spigot. 3. Restart your computer, hopefully all processes have now been stopped. 4. Go to programs, thanks to boot scan it has now magically appeared under programs says IOBit/Spigot Toolbar and you can uninstall. Good luck!

This unwanted piece of software one day appeared on my desktop. This was after downloading ASC (IObit)from Download.com I kept it for a while to check out it's usefulness. The truth is, I did not find it at all useful. It did not catch any malware that others did. It's realtime tracking appeared to slow down my browser. (this was noticeable after uninstalling.

Stick with the more trusted Anti-Malware products. Anything that invites itself into your PC should be treated with scepticism.
