HyperCam captures the action and sound from any part of Windows desktop and saves it to standard AVI movie files. Captures cursor movements, menus selections, windows popping up, and everything else you see on the screen. Correctly handles color palette changes if recording in 256 color mode. Allow you to pan the recorded area around the screen. Optionally annotates recorded movies with text.

Version: HyperCam 2.17.02

"useful, but not for everyone"

Pros: it does what i need it to.

Cons: little nag message watermark on recorded video. not much of a problem for me, but i could see it being annoying to some

Summary: it is a good piece of software. the only problem is watermarking.

Version: HyperCam 2.17.02

"Captures video and sound free."

Pros: It captures any video including sound from any site. Works fine in XP. You need to enable the stereo mix in the volume control panel if you wish to record using on board sound or sound card.

Cons: This isn't a con with Hypercam but more to do with Windows 7. My recording volume control only shows "microphone" and "line-in" in Windows 7 so I can't enable it to capture through my on board sound.

Summary: This program has let me capture videos that won't download. If you use the unobtrusive tool bar (which seems to be spyware free) it doesn't add a watermark to the video.
