- "Heroes of Might and Magic V demo"
- Version reviewed: Heroes of Might and Magic V demo
The graphics, presentation, and gameplay of Heroes of Might and Magic are what most gamers would expect from the acclaimed turn-based strategy series. Unfortunately, a lack of instructions or tutorial may leave you befuddled, wandering about the world of Ashan and wondering what the heck you're supposed to do. Also, rough edges show throughout the demo, including frame lag and Tool Tip mistakes. The high-quality graphics and gameplay, along with three campaigns and multiplayer action via Ubi.com help rescue a recommended rating for the demo.
In the single-player demo missions, you'll basically explore the available playing area, gaining gold, experience, and towns, and completing objectives. Battles are conducted by positioning your available units in the melee area, then directing each unit's attack move or letting the game fight for you automatically. The towns are your renewable sources of units and can be upgraded once per turn.
This fifth version of the tactical strategy series is the first to include 3D graphics, and the look is impressive, though the cutscenes are mostly worthless. The single-player missions are brief, but they offer a healthy look at how the combat, role-playing, and city-building elements of the game work. The only catch is that you'll basically need to learn how to play on your own.

Version: Heroes of Might and Magic V demo
"As a Heroes series fan I dont like this one much"
Pros: Nice graphics, its finally 3d. Music and storyboard is also pretty good.
Cons: Well its not a bad game, but its not much Heroes anymore. Evniornemt looks a little like Warcraft 3, battles like Final fantasy. There are some changes back to Heroes 3 (like the role of your hero). It has higher hw requirements than it could have.

"So so game that should be recommended to fans of the series."
Pros: A)Graphics are very nice and clean.
B)The battle system is done well and only aids in the playability of the game.
C)Decent multiplayer system is one of the saving features of the game.
Cons: A)While I found the game easy to pick up on I'm sure that many would not, and the lack of any sort of manual will not aid this group of people in any way. If you have played turn based strategy games before it will help out a lot, if you haven't I simply cannot safely recommend this game to you.
B)They could not have made the single player campaign any shorter if they tried. Quality over quantity perhaps but if they want me to hand them a good chunk of my hard earned money this is no excuse.

Version: Heroes of Might and Magic V demo
"What a demo!! Its hugly expansive."
Pros: Firstly, you will be shocked with the amazing 3-D graphics that are thrown your way right from the beginning. The demo includes two campaign scenarios and one custom scenario; these scenarios can last absolutely ages and give the game a great feel. A definite must have and I sure know Im getting the full game.
Cons: Took an absolute age to download. 4 hours for me but definitely worth it!!
