CNET Editors' review
The graphics, presentation, and gameplay of Heroes of Might and Magic are what most gamers would expect from the acclaimed turn-based strategy series. Unfortunately, a lack of instructions or tutorial may leave you befuddled, wandering about the world of Ashan and wondering what the heck you're supposed to do. Also, rough edges show throughout the demo, including frame lag and Tool Tip mistakes. The high-quality graphics and gameplay, along with three campaigns and multiplayer action via Ubi.com help rescue a recommended rating for the demo.
In the single-player demo missions, you'll basically explore the available playing area, gaining gold, experience, and towns, and completing objectives. Battles are conducted by positioning your available units in the melee area, then directing each unit's attack move or letting the game fight for you automatically. The towns are your renewable sources of units and can be upgraded once per turn.
This fifth version of the tactical strategy series is the first to include 3D graphics, and the look is impressive, though the cutscenes are mostly worthless. The single-player missions are brief, but they offer a healthy look at how the combat, role-playing, and city-building elements of the game work. The only catch is that you'll basically need to learn how to play on your own.

Pros
This game truly is amazing it has nice backgrounds great emotions in the people great graphics and magics i love magics.
Cons
Download.com isn't the greatest place to download the game go to a different website like filefront.com or even fileplanet and stuff like that the game will go at 500k/b -1m/b per second and for all you people who say the game doesn't work and think you have a high end comp go upgrade it with new RAM chips and graphics card or even a better procceser and yes it will help.

Version: Heroes of Might and Magic V demo
Pros
Pros:
-New 3D environment
-Cool spell animations
-Interesting Hero Balancing
-Lots of new features to mix in some RTS along with turn-based
Cons
Cons:
-for some users, game won't launch until you do some tinkering with DirectX
-AI is very SLOW on heroic: it is possible that some turns take 7 min.
-Heroes are too strong: they can hit units in battle and cast spells, but they cannot be harmed
-Map sizes cannot be as big as in previous series
-Some minor graphical bugs

"As a Heroes series fan I dont like this one much"
Version: Heroes of Might and Magic V demo
Pros
Nice graphics, its finally 3d. Music and storyboard is also pretty good.
Cons
Well its not a bad game, but its not much Heroes anymore. Evniornemt looks a little like Warcraft 3, battles like Final fantasy. There are some changes back to Heroes 3 (like the role of your hero). It has higher hw requirements than it could have.
