Software tool to monitor hard drive and logical disk activity. A small indicator will blink on the screen the same way as a hardware LED on a PC. Good replacement for the hardware HDD LED when your PC case is not directly visible. Version 1.7 has GUI improvements and minor fixes.

In All-In-One mode, the LED represents system memory and CPU usage as well. Hovering your mouse over the LED gives a real-time numerical reading of the read and write performances in megabytes. It comes with some aesthetic pleasantries that let you customize transparency and colors of the onscreen LED lights.
As a nice feature, you can have your Scroll Lock key or the system-tray icon flash every time read or write activity occurs. We recommend HddLed to anyone seeking an easy-to-use monitoring tool that doesn't take up too much space or use too many resources.

Pros: I have 2 physical drives and several partitions per drive. with this simple little tool I can monitor what drive and partition is being accessed. You can configure the color of the lights to your preferences and move them around where it best suits you on the screen. Also uses very little system resources. (a little over 1 meg. of RAM)
Cons: You get a nag popup every time you boot up asking you to register the product. After installing it did freeze my system up once. However after running the chkdisk and defragging it seems to run ok now.

Pros: My computer is under my desk and I can't see the hard drive activity light and I have 3 physical drives. Now I can see whats happening when I hear the computer buzzing away and which drive. Also you can move the LEDs anywhere on the screen. It will show logical drives also if you want. Its a very lite program.
Cons: None and I've been running it for quite a while.
