Halloween Haunting Screensaver is a fun and creepy program that is sure to get you into the Halloween spirit (no pun intended). Although it is a fairly basic program, it's not bad for a seasonal screensaver.
The program really just consists of various creepy characters, including skulls, jack-o-lanterns, ghosts, bats, and bloody eyeballs, flying around on a black background. Users can optionally have a large full moon displayed as well. In the program's interface, users select how fast they want the characters to move and which character they want to use; there is a Random option, but be aware that this option will randomly select one character to use each time the screensaver starts. The characters don't change while the screensaver is running. We were a little disappointed by this, but that was our only major complaint about the program. The screensaver's optional sound effects were appropriately spooky, with moaning, creaking doors, and howling werewolves. Overall, the program is a fun addition to your computer that should get you in the mood for some spooky fun.
Halloween Haunting Screensaver is free. It installs politely, although users will want to pay attention during installation, as the program will optionally install the Dealio toolbar and Weather Channel Desktop unless you tell it otherwise. The program leaves a file behind upon removal. We recommend this program to all users seeking a fun seasonal screensaver.
